Visit the Church of San Juan Bautista. This impressive church is the main landmark of Arucas and one of the most beautiful buildings on the island. It was built in the 19th century with volcanic stone and features a neo-Gothic style. You can admire its stunning facade, its stained glass windows, and its carved wooden altarpiece. The church is open to visitors from Monday to Saturday, from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 16:00 to 19:00.

Stroll around the Parque de las Flores. This park is located next to the church and is a lovely place to relax and enjoy the nature. The park has many flowers, trees, and fountains, as well as a playground for children. You can also find some sculptures and monuments dedicated to famous people from Arucas, such as the poet Tomás Morales.

They offer a menu of the day that includes a starter, a main course, a dessert, and a drink for only 10 euros. The dishes are typical of the Canary Islands, such as papas arrugadas (wrinkled potatoes), mojo (spicy sauce), and ropa vieja (shredded meat stew). The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and friendly service. You can find it at Calle León y Castillo, 4.

Hike Up To Mirador de la Montaña de Arucas

Hike up to Mirador de la Montaña de Arucas. If you are feeling adventurous, you can hike up to this viewpoint that offers amazing views of Arucas and the coast. The hike is not very long, but it is steep and requires some effort. You can start from the town center and follow the signs to the mirador. The path is mostly paved with steps and asphalt road, so it is easy to follow. Once you reach the top, you will be rewarded with a panoramic view of the town, the church, the banana plantations, and the sea.
