More information:

Biarum ditschianum, Araceae. Turkey. This is a relatively new species described only in 1989. The purple-red spathes are short, and are in fact reduced to a rim more or less at ground level with a large, golden spadix protruding up from the centre. A very unusual looking plant and totally different to all other Araceae species. They are endemic to Turkey, where the plant is found in only one locality, growing in humus-filled sink holes in limestone pavements.
