Description

Rhododendron fulvum ssp. fulvum KR#10084 This species is somewhat reminiscent of a smaller version of the popular big-leaf species – R. rex ssp. fictolacteum. Beautiful large leaves and attractive flowers on a long-lived plant. The flowers (early spring) are white to pink and usually blotched. These are grown from seed collected in the wild in a previously unexplored region of the Sino-Himalaya at the far western end of the range of the species. Beautiful, rich red-brown indumentum on the lower surface of the leaves -one of the best foliage plants in the genus. (-5\R1\4) RSBG#184sd2011
