From Glastonbury and Wimbledon to Ibiza, Sienna Miller has been owning it this summer. While most stars hide backstage (Kate Moss), or hire yachts so big the paparazzi can’t possibly long lens their way in (Margot Robbie), Sienna has been having the time of her life in plain view.
Why wouldn’t she? Aged 40 and living her best life, Miller is proudly in the throes of a new romance with Oli Green, she’s best friends with her ex (see her hanging out with Tom Sturridge and his new love interest Alexa Chung at the tennis in June), and she’s in the best shape of her life (hence all the bikini shots we keep witnessing).
At Glasto, she was all boho Miller with a modern twist, in Mango minidresses and Dear Frances ankle boots, accessorised with that cheeky smile that Worthy Farm blesses its revellers with. At Wimbledon, she swapped her tinted rave shades for Ralph Lauren broderie anglaise, which signalled summertime on her terms (no florals here, thank you very much!). She has developed a penchant for Self-Portrait’s candy-coloured ribbed-knit dresses while on the London event scene and adds au courant accessories, like Prada’s Cleo bag and Bottega mules, which ordinarily she might skip in favour of classic Sienna pieces that aren’t pegged to a trend or time. It’s been refreshing to see the actor enjoy the freedom that the season brings and not hold back or worry about looking immaculate for the camera. Fun first, fashion second, in Miller’s world!
The item that truly sums up Sienna’s summer is the Mango crochet hat she’s been pairing with her Eres and Bond Eye bikinis while in St Tropez and the Balearics. Sarongs have also received her vote. Ditto crop tops. If these affordable, ubiquitous summer staples have defined the wardrobe of one of the nation’s all-time favourite cool girls, then it’s good news for the rest of us. The message? You don’t need a budget for Blumarine and Balenciaga, like the rest of the influencer world seemingly does, just a bikini that makes you feel good and a bucket hat that’s a little bit extra.
