Alexandra Hotel

Seemed like a very fun hotel bar and pool situation. Cheap drinks, good music, beach vibes. Clean and quiet. We were only here for a night before we caught an early flight.

Lovely hotel, the only reason I think this is classed as 2 star is that the airport is very close and the aeroplanes are going over throughout the day first one around 7.30 in the morning and the last one around 10 at night, personally it didn't bother us to but we are not all the same. The hotel is spotless and the staff are all very friendly and cannot do enough for you. The breakfast room is quite small and you do wait some mornings for a table or you can take a tray outside and eat in bar area, or take it back to your room, never seen this before in all the years I have travelled, every place I have ever stayed there are notices on the wall telling you not to take food out of dining room and you have to stand in line waiting for a table. The bar is quite expensive 6 euros for a pint of Mythos local larger, vodka and orange 10 euros my friend was drinking whiskey and coke same price, even in the bars and restaurants in the town lager was 6 euros but shorts were 8 euros. We went to Fira on the bus 2 euros, check the cruise ship itinerary on the internet and don't go if there is more than one ship in as the place is packed and you cannot move, very annoying when people just stop in front of you to take a photo of a mangy cat, very hilly but well worth going, no cruise ships in on Monday, book any trips on an app hotel reps wanted 65 euros for a 3 hour boat trip, we did not want to go on a long one booked it on the app it was 23 euros for same one, ok you do have to get yourself to the port but that's part of the fun, cable car down to the port is 6 euros each way takes 3 minutes. All in all we had a great week in Santorini, been there done it, would not go back Santorini is a victim of it own success, we met some lovely people and the food is really nice, try Gia mas restaurant food is to die for and the waiters are really friendly

This hotel is a hidden gem beautiful rooms great staff very helpful especially Irene on reception goes out of her way to help pool area is beautiful this hotel needs a higher star score definitely. Only downfall was breakfast unless you like toast and the bar/food is quite expensive

Arrived mid April so out of season, restaurants and bars in Kamari were only starting to open, enough for what we needed while on holiday though. Lovely hotel, to say it’s only a 2 star, the service we received was far more than that. Room was lovely and clean, great bathroom with hair dryer, air conditioning in room, fridge, towels changed every day, nice balcony with pool and sea view. Reception and bar staff were friendly and welcoming, bus time table in reception area to Fira (main bus depot) cost €2 and from there you catch a bus to other places on the island. Ate a few times at the hotel once when arrived late first night and also when late back from a tour of the island one night. Breakfast had a good choice, only thing I would say is they need a toaster, but that’s personal choice. Pool area was clean and sun beds were comfortable, best sun beds we’ve had in ages, didn’t go in the pool at it was cold. Great little supermarket next door, the guy was friendly and chatty. Short walk to the beach turning right out the hotel to the bottom and you are there or walk past the supermarket and walk through Costa Grand hotel as a short cut to the sea front, cuts out at least 6-7 minutes walk if you walk the road way in which we was first advised to go.

Amazing hotel, definitely higher than a 2*! We just returned from 7 nights at this lovely hotel and couldn’t wait to write a review as it is a total hidden gem. The hotel and room is spotlessly clean, lovely spacious balcony, great pool area & super comfy bed! Staff were all very nice and on our departure from the hotel a gentleman (which I assumed is the owner) shook my hand, thanked me for our visit and invited us back next year. Just a lovely gesture. It also had a good age range and mix of people from couples, families and friends. We absolutely loved seeing the planes going over the hotel and it didn’t bother us whatsoever! Location is fab too- mini market right beside hotel, 10-15 minute walk to centre with buses to Fira for €2 (bus takes about 15-20 mins) There is a beach within a 5/10 minute walk which has some nice comfy sun loungers down the bottom end if you want to get away from the poolside. If you do decide to stay beside the pool the sun loungers and parasols are lovely and pool is great. In the centre of Kamari there are great eateries and shops. Our favourite was Souvlike for their gyros, at €4.90 for one quick self service or take away and absolutely delicious! Quicky’s just beside it also does great ice cream. We found the food and drink offerings at the hotel very good and value for money good portions and only €1 for a 1.5 litre of water. The only thing I would say would be the price of the spirits is a bit high, €10 for a vodka & coke so we didn’t drink too much at the hotel. I feel if the prices for the alcohol were a little less, we would have definitely drank a lot more and I’m sure other people would be the same in turn more people drinking and more money being made. Overall, thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and cannot wait to return. Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to go to Santorini

Stayed at this lovely hotel for a 5 nights in October, weather was fabulous. Rooms were great, really clean hotel. Great little bar and pool area although didn't sunbathe here we preferred the beach. The breakfast was ok but basic you could eat inside which was a bit hectic giving canteen vibes, so we either took it back to our room terrace or ate it by the pool. Staff were lovely too, I would certainly return and stay in Kamari, I would not want to stay in the hustle of the main tourist spots it's just too busy and commercialised for us. Bus service was great and very cheap. Location of hotel was great short walk down to the front loads of lovely restaurants. Charming little place book it!

Wanted to write an initial review, first impressions and all that. WHAT A LOVELY LITTLE PLACE. The staff are soooo nice, Hotel is immaculate. So pleased with our room. €6 for a pint which is pretty much back home prices. I have eaten yet but just saw a few meals delivered around me and they look great. So pleased so far, can’t wait to keep updating

What a great little hotel: Super friendly staff, immaculate room and bathroom, complete with a decent fridge. The room had air-con which we didn’t use, but I would imagine in the summer you would. The hotel has a lovely pool and great sunbathing area with parasols. Pool bar served a great menu for very reasonable prices 6-14€ and stocks a range of beers, wines, cocktails, soft drinks, fruit juices etc Next to the hotel is a mini supermarket which sells all essentials if you’ve forgotten anything or want snacks. Hotel staff were always available to speak with and in the foyer they have displayed the local bus timetable to various destinations across the island. A great little gem of a hotel.
