She revealed how she struggled to care for herself and desperately needed help after finding maggots in the folds of her skin.

Lisa managed to lose 6st on the show but had trouble maintaining her diet afterwards and gained 2st when she was released from hospital, Radar Online reported.

Her daughter Danielle announced Lisa had passed away on Thursday, but said her death was not a result of her weight.

She told TMZ: “At the end she was sick and her body was tired and her body just gave out.”

On the show, Lisa said that she had struggled with her weight since childhood, with her issues being exacerbated after her parents divorced and after her brother was murdered.

She also said her weight continued to climb after each of her four pregnancies.

In 2013, Bonner lost his leg in a car accident and became depressed, turning to food and alcohol as a coping mechanism.

He eventually hit 642lbs (46st) as a result, but with the help of the TLC show he shed a staggering 316lbs (22.5st) - half his bodyweight.

Bonner, who was 6ft 5in tall,  continued his weight loss even after the show wrapped earlier this year and is said to have reached around 200lb (14st) before his death.
