What's it like at Arosa resort?

Arosa, in Switzerland, is a large resort with 30 lifts (including 15 chair lifts, 9 surface lifts) that offers skiers an impressive 1372 metres (4500 feet) of vertical descent. Arosa has 70 pistes with a total length of 100 kilometers (62 miles). Arosa is best suited to intermediate skiers and snowboarders with some terrain for beginners but little of interest for advanced skiers. There are 32 kilometers (20 miles) of cross country ski trails at Arosa. For snowboarders, there is a terrain park and a half pipe. A small proportion of the pistes at Arosa are covered by snowmaking. The closest airport is at Zurich but at 3 hours the transfer time is very slow. The nearest train station to Arosa is at Arosa. There is accommodation located close to the pistes but we would welcome additional information about any hotels or chalets in Arosa.

New, for the 2013/2014 season, is a tramway which connects Arosa (at the Hornli chair) across to Lenzerheide. This now links the two resorts as one larger area as they are both on the same lift pass.
