Minnie Driver has returned to CAA, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned, after two and a half years at UTA.
The London native most recently starred in the television adaptation of About a Boy, which ran on NBC for two seasons. She also narrated the network’s Peter Pan Live! and starred in Lifetime’s two-night Biblical drama The Red Tent, both of which aired in December 2014. Driver earned her second career Emmy nomination earlier that year for the Lifetime telepic Return to Zero; she told THR that playing a woman coping with stillbirth was “the best work I’ve done as an actor.” (Her first Emmy nomination came in 2007, for the FX drama The Riches, for which she was also nominated for a Golden Globe.)
In film, Driver most recently starred as Gugu Mbatha-Raw’s demanding momager in Gina Prince-Bythewood’s well-received romantic drama Beyond the Lights. Her breakout role, of course, was her Oscar-nominated turn in Good Will Hunting, and her other film credits include Barney’s Version, The Phantom of the Opera, An Ideal Husband, Grosse Pointe Blank, Sleepers, Big Night and her feature debut, 1995’s Circle of Friends. She also voiced lead characters in Disney’s animated Tarzan and the English version of Hayao Miyazaki’s Princess Mononoke.
Driver continues to be represented by Untitled Entertainment and Morris Yorn attorney Kevin Morris (for whom, along with fellow clients including Matthew McConaughey and John C. McGinley, she recorded the audiobook version of his short story collection, White Man’s Problems).
