Danica Patrick confirms split from boyfriend Carter Comstock

Danica Patrick is single.

The retired NASCAR driver confirmed that she and boyfriend Carter Comstock have called it quits after dating for nearly one year.

“We were together for a while, and unfortunately it didn’t work, but it doesn’t mean that it wasn’t a really fun time and we didn’t do a lot of really amazing things,” Patrick told People, adding that the split happened several months ago.

The news comes three months after the pair spent the holidays together.

“It doesn’t mean that there’s something wrong with either of us,” she stressed. “It’s just a matter of finding someone who you can stand the test of time with.”

Patrick met Comstock, the Freshly Co-Founder, through friends, openly gushing about their relationship after going public April 2021.

“… I had this sort of grand vision for finding someone I could just sit on the couch with and, like, have a glass of wine and just literally come up with any topic at all, simple or complicated,” the “Pretty Intense” podcaster said in an interview. “I just always imagined how great it would be to find someone to sit on the couch and talk with for hours, and that’s just what we do.”

Before Comstock, Patrick famously dated Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

The two-year romance revved up in early 2018 and it was serious enough that by the following year, they had even purchased a $28 million Malibu estate. But by the summer of 2020, a rep for the former Indy Car driver confirmed the couple’s split.

Meanwhile, Patrick is gearing up to celebrate her 40th birthday later this month and is planning a girls’ trip to commemorate the milestone number.

The Sky Sports broadcaster is also putting a positive spin on her newly single status, sharing, “Of course, my love life is not the pinnacle of all the things. But on the other hand, [being single] gives me an opportunity to create a deeper relationship with myself. Wherever there is a lack, there is an abundance of something else.”
