San Mateo, CA – On April 15, 2024, at 7:15 p.m., San Mateo Police Department received a 911 call advising a male suspect was chasing another person near Coyote Point Park, located at 1601 Coyote Point Drive. Officers arrived on scene and found the victim that was chased. The victim told police while he was walking, a male suspect approached him and demanded his cell phone. Officers were able to get a license plate number from a person who witnessed the incident. Officers searched the area for the white SUV and found the car parked in front of Target at the BridgePointe Shopping Center. The car was unoccupied, and officers waited for the suspect to return to his vehicle. When the suspect returned, he was safely detained. The suspect was identified as Michael Bruni. More great work by Millbrae Police Bureau Deputies this past weekend: "Two auto burglary suspects were arrested Saturday in Millbrae thanks to an observant resident and the quick work of San Mateo County Sheriff’s Deputies. On Saturday, March 30, shortly after 6:30 p.m., Sheriff’s Deputies assigned to the Millbrae Police Bureau were dispatched to the area of Chadbourne Avenue and Magnolia Avenue in the City of Millbrae after receiving a report of two suspects who had just burglarized a vehicle. Upon arrival, Deputies were provided with a description of the two suspects and learned that they fled the area on foot towards El Camino Real. Deputies searched the area and located the two suspects near the Millbrae BART Station. The suspects, identified as Jose Aguilar-Primero, 21, of Richmond and a 17-year-old juvenile male from Richmond, were taken into custody. Aguilar-Primero initially provided Deputies with a false name and had multiple burglary tools in his possession. As a result of the investigation, Aguilar-Primero was arrested and later booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility for the below listed charges. The 17-year-old was cited and released to the custody of family members. Those with information about this case are encouraged to contact Deputy Samuel Lehr at slehr@smcgov.org or 650-363-4911. Additionally, anonymous tips can be provided via the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office Anonymous Tip Line at 1-800-547-2700."

Sheriff’s deputies arrest parent who kidnapped child SAN MATEO COUNTY, Calif. – Shortly before 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, deputies with the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office were requested by the Atherton Police Department to assist with a pursuit involving a vehicle who had made traffic infractions. While responding to assist, Sheriff’s deputies were flagged down outside of the North Fair Oaks substation by a woman who stated that her 4-year-old daughter had just been kidnapped by the child’s father following a verbal argument. The suspect was last seen with the child leaving the Budget Inn located in the 2500 block of El Camino Real in Redwood City. While gathering information, deputies learned the description matched the vehicle from the Atherton pursuit. Deputies requested that San Mateo County Public Safety Communications put out a countywide broadcast to all neighboring law enforcement agencies. Atherton officers and Sheriff’s deputies pursued the vehicle on El Camino Real until the suspect stopped back in the parking lot of the Budget Inn. The suspect was taken into custody a short time later without incident. The child was uninjured and returned to the care of her mother. As a result of the investigation, the suspect, identified as Marco Misael Antonio Perezreyes, 25 of Pacoima, was arrested and later booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility for the following charges: PC 207(A) – Kidnapping PC 273A(A) – Child Endangerment PC 236 – False Imprisonment PC422(A) – Threaten crime with intent to terrorize 2800.2(A) – Reckless Evading The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office extends its gratitude to the Atherton Police Department for their partnership and collaboration in helping to bring the child home safely.
