This Jaguar Mk II got away, but there are more like it here.

This Jaguar Mk II was dispatched to the US on July 21, 1966, sold new in San Francisco, California, refurbished in black over tan leather in the early 1990s, and acquired by its current owner in 2013. Power comes from a 3.8-liter straight-six paired with a replacement three-speed automatic transmission, and features include a Webasto sliding sunroof, wire wheels, a period Radiomobile AM radio, and more. This Mark II is offered on consignment by the selling dealer with manufacturer’s literature, a tool kit and jack, refurbishment records and photos, a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate, car show awards, and a  California salvage title.

Damage from a warehouse fire reportedly led to the assignment of a salvage title and a multi-year refurbishment that was completed by Gilroy Classic Cars of California in 1994. A repaint from Silver Blue to the current PPG Deltron black was performed, chrome trim was replated, and door and window seals were replaced along with a rebuild of the factory-optioned Webasto Continental Sunshine Roof. The car received a class win with a perfect score at a 1994 Jaguar Clubs of North America event in California. Refurbishment records and photos, an award certificate, and period press materials can be seen up close in the gallery below.

Accessories include a single driver-side mirror and rear fender skirts. Chrome 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with Firestone wide-whitewall tires. A matching spare wheel is fitted in the trunk along with a factory tool kit. Woodhead shocks were installed during the 1990s refurbishment along with replacement front coil and rear leaf springs. Braking is handled by Dunlop discs at all four corners.

Originally trimmed in dark blue, the cabin was reupholstered in tan leather with matching door panels and carpets during the 1990s refurbishment. Wood trim was sent to England for refinishing at the time. Amenities include a period Radiomobile AM radio, wing windows, and fold-down rear trays.
