  • First Checking: Aimed at helping your teen learn money management, this account is a joint account that earns 0.10% APY and comes with no monthly maintenance fees.

Axos has a High Yield Savings account that comes with a free ATM card upon request and that has no monthly minimum requirements are maintenance fees. You do need $250 to open an account, however. Earn an annual percentage yield up to 0.61%, which is a little higher than the national average of 0.46% reported by the FDIC in January, 2024. However, it’s lower than other online banks. Additionally, the more you keep in the account, the lower your APY. Accounts with more than $100,000 earn 0.15% APY.
