I wonder if the blood line is still existant. In other words, who got the puppies and are they reproducing?

Don't neglect that in order to make sure that the cyanide capsules were still "potent" Hitler had one of them crushed between Blondi's teeth to make sure.

So, he took his favorite Alsatian out before he "offed" himself. Some dog lover.

It is said that he often scolded the dog during his legendary outbursts. What a dog's life: To be owned by a dictator and end up being poisoned....

This dog was the final straw for me with Wikipedia. The English version originally insisted that Blondi was Hitler's German shepherd.

"Nein, Ich bin ein frei mann!"

Meanwhile on the German wiki they insisted it was spelt "Blondie", despite Hitler, Bormann et al spelling it Blondi in their communication, and this having to be proven to them to validate any editing. Tedious pointlessness in my eyes, esp. as I'd expect our German cousins to have an inside track on getting all the details right.

The puppies went to German high rankers, Bormann had one.

The funniest part, and fortunately for us Allies, was how German staff officers would happily lie or ignore simple facts about the war preferring instead to talk about dogs with Hitler.

I'm not saying she is or isn't but GSD bitches are incredibly submissive to their owners, and being herders often adopt their a herding posture, flat as
a pancake, ears down, tail tucked away in that submission on something as simple as a sit command. This is not what a lot of people expect as they have a reputation of being aggressive to folk who've not had one.

    cheers,

I saw a documentry on those Hitler puppies, it was not a fake documentry this time cause those the same pups that were in the documentry.
I would be scared too , if i had Hitler patting me on the head.

If this quiz was any more of a dog, it would shead hair and lick it's genitals....

I wonder if Blondi ever sniffed at Eva Braun's map of Tasmania? Certain dogs are real crotch sniffers, so, this could possibly be an explanation for Eva giving the animal a swift kick every now and again!

I didn't know you were such a poet Volga, "the map of Tasmania". I don't even dare to ask how you'd call Hobart then ? But well I think this thread has had it's hours of glory and since the snake (oops dog) is biting it's tail , maybe it's time for me to close it now.
