Evanescence promises Upstate big sound, classic fall performance

Evanescence promises Upstate big sound, classic fall performance
Evanescence is coming to Greenville.The rock band with a powerful female lead singer and a big sound announced Monday it will perform at the Peace Center on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m.The stop is part of the multi-platinum band’s 16-city fall tour that kicks off Oct. 28 in Dallas, Texas.The Evanescence musical roots began in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1995 with singer/pianist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody.The classicly trained, operatic and passionate vocals helped Evanescence to sell nearly 25 million albums since the band’s 2003 debut, Fallen.The album’s premiere single, “Bring Me To Life,” won a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance. Other massive hits followed including “My Immortal,” “Going Under” and “Call Me When You’re Sober,” establishing Evanescence as a worldwide tour headliner.“Our music is so geared for live shows,” said Lee. “When we create music, we’re constantly thinking about playing it live.” Tickets are $45-$65 and go on sale on Friday.
