Alia Bhatt was seen in a dusty pink pearl sharara set from the designer Seema Gujral for the launch of the Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed series, Heeramandi. The Gangubai Kathiawadi actor paired her sharara with drop jadau earrings from designer Falguni Mehta.
Going with her naturally minimal makeup and a white microbindi, Bhatt styled her hair in loose waves. The sharara features thread embroidery and pearl details at the shoulder and the dupatta had pearl drops embroidered on all sides. The pearl-accented sharara seemed like an Indian cousin of her Met Gala 2023 look by Prabal Gurung, a pristine white gown in silk tulle embroidered with a hundred thousand pearls in honour of the theme which was Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.
The sharara has become the outfit of choice for many actors. Aditi Rao Hydari has taken to wearing shararas to promote her Netflix series Heeramandi. Rao Hydari was spotted in a flowy jewel toned sharara by the label Eeksha. Featuring intricate gold embroidery on the borders, the actor styled her look with heavy gold jhumkas. The sharara's provenance dates back to Mughal-era India in Lucknow, earlier known as the Awadh region. Adapted for costumes in old Bollywood films, it is associated with the sartorial legacy of legendary actors like Meena Kumari and Sadhna.

Alaya F opted to take a more laid-back approach to wearing a sharara from the label Asaga. Mira Rajput Kapoor hopped on early to the trend when she was spotted in a Seema Gujral sharara set for Radhika Merchant and Anant Ambani's pre-wedding celebrations in Jamnagar. Rajput-Kapoor styled her look with an emerald studded ring and bracelet.
