Robinia pseudoacacia 'Pyramidalis' (syn. R. pseudoacacia fastigiata) has a narrow, column-shaped, semi-transparent crown. The branches hang down somewhat when the tree ages. Height approx. 13 - 15 m, width up to approx. 3 - 5 m. The light brown twigs have fewer thorns than those of the species and sometimes are even thornless. Leaves emerge late in the spring and remain on the tree a long time. 'Pyramidalis' rarely blooms and is less sensitive to wind than the other cultivars are.
