Thisis a truly great hotel with an excellent service level. We were in a spaceous suite with a balcony overlooking the village, with a large bed, sofa and bathroom with separate toilet room. Hotel is located close to the church at the beginning of the village, close to the tourist office. The half board option means that you get an excellent breakfast selection (rolls, fruits, selection of eggs, etc) as well as fine dining in the evening (a four coursemeal plus a salad starter) that varied across the days (and always with a vegetarian option). The dinners were really wonderful, made and served with care overlooked by the maitre d' with an eye for detail and a personal touch (welcoming us everytime). The hotel has an indoor and outdoor area where they served food and drinks. In the afternoon, they serve complimentary cakes, which were excellent as well. The spa is lovely, with an indoor and outdoor pool, and we booked several massages as these were wonderful too (especially after a long hot day of hiking). Parking garage was spaceous as well (which is not always the case in hotel parkings). Staff are very helpful and friendly. Only minus is that our suite did not have airconditioning (in a week when temperatures rose to 35°C), but the outdoor temperature at night is cool, sowe slept with the balcony door open. Definately recommended for everybody who wants to relax and explore the lovely Zillertal.

This hotel exceeded all of our expectations. The dinner and the spa were particularly impressive. The hotel has a modern feel whilst retaining a traditional charm. On top of this, the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Johannes, our waiter for the majority of the stay was attentive and very friendly which bought our mood up even after a long day on the slopes. My only recommendation would be for better drying facilities in the bedroom for ski jackets etc.

The hotel is quite close to the main town and not too far from the main ski lift. There are circulating buses that pass the hotel so no need to walk if you don't want to. The hotel is very comfortable and the staff most helpful and friendly. Food was provided each night with choices of main course. It was beautifully presented and very tasty.
The bar was a nice place to go after dinner and again, service was good. The hotel has a spa and small pool to relax in.
Rooms are very clean and comfortable. We had a 'cosy' room which was quite small, so no desk and little clothes hanging space, but it had a great shower and bathroom. Beds were fine, although they had a thick piece of sponge on top which made it difficult to sit on the side of the bed. I'd have that removed if I went back. A mattress topper would be more comfortable.
Overall we had a great stay, felt looked after and would happily return if we go back to Mayrhofen.

I have been to many places in Austria and even to other hotels in Mayrhofen however this looked like a real treat for a lovely half term ski holiday. Food is very good and Ana is excellent on the bar with cocktails. The staff are friendly and helpful. We had a few unfortunate problems in that other guests were climbing over our balcony and smoking cannabis making our room smell terrible, one of the wardrobes smelled of the last guest’s sweat and so we only used one side. We complained to the manager as people on our balcony were smoking cannabis however he claimed not to be able to tell the difference between this and cigarette smoke! He asked that they were quiet as they were disturbing others but apparently believed their story that they ‘fell off’ their balcony onto ours and did not challenge this or the cannabis at all despite the fact they were standing on the joining section of the two balconies. We had to be out of the room by 10am on the day of departure and returned to the hotel to wait for the transfer at 2pm (transfer at 3) after a walk into the town centre. The complimentary cakes were available so we had a cake as we waited only to be told after eating them that as it was day of departure they were no longer included and we had to pay! Some hotels have management teams that uphold the best standards. We paid over £4000 for the week for 2 of us and were charged for a piece of cake as we left. If you don’t come into contact with the manager here your stay will be great. Advice would be not to complain as you will be unsuccessful, and not to eat the non-complimentary cake on departure as you will be charged but not told about this in advance. On the plus side the massages were excellent. Having read other responses from the management the attitude is clear to see so any response I’m sure will be in keeping with our experiences this week. Won’t be returning here - shame really as very minor issues could have been avoided. Inexperience in management for guests is too obvious to hide.

Dear Beth M. thank your for your review. As we have all discussed on-site and emaild already, i will copy-paste a part of our conversation in order to put some points right... I apologize again for your inconvenience and are happy to response to your complaints. When we arrived the right wardrobe smelled of sweat from previous occupants which has meant that we have not been able to use it. I am sorry for that, but this has never ever been the case before in the whole hotel. The wardrobe in your room is brand new (6 months) and we never ever had this problem, even with old wardrobes that were in the room before we completely renovated it. Nevertheless I am sorry for this inconvenience and if we would have known it earlier, we could have done something against it. I am happy, you are at least able to use the wardrobe now. The room temperature has been out of our control and has been very hot however we have not been able to keep the window open as we have been woken up every morning at 5:30AM due to loud music from outside that has also been very loud late into each evening. The heating can be regulated manually very easy just by turning the button left (up) or right (down). Our maintenance man or our reception staff would have been more than happy to help you regulating the temperature instantly. The music at the terrace turns on at 7.00 am. This is a background music that starts automatically but again, we can turn it off easily for you any time. Please just let us know what we can do for you. This evening after dinner we went upstairs and people from nearby rooms were climbing over our balcony and smoking cannabis. Our room now smells of cannabis. we complained to the manager however he did not think that the cannabis was a problem. He only asked that they remain quiet. I am sorry that your neighbors did smoke on their balcony. There are 4 people in room 117 who arrived tonight and when I went up to your room to look after them, they felt sorry for being noisy and told me they would be calm from now on. Also, I asked them if there was someone climbing on the balcony and they told me that one of them fell down and it obviously sounded like someone climbing over. All I could do is to ask them for being calm and stop smoking, They initially went into their room afterwards and also left their room just a minute later to go outside. I again asked them to be calm and take care of the other people in the hotel. They promised to do so. I hope you agree that this it was my very intention to solve the problem as good as possible! I do however absolutely not agree with your statement that I do not think that cannabis was a problem!! What I argued was that I was not sure whether it was cannabis or not! Please do not get me wrong on that, thank you. We then went to the bar to order cocktails as we did last night with Ana. Ana appears not to be at work today and other staff did not know how to make the cocktails. When we advised her of this she appeared very unhappy. We had to choose a different drink and have now returned to the room as we felt uncomfortable in the bar. Ana is on duty six days a week. Today is her day off. We really try our best to even serve all cocktails on the menu even if our bartender is off duty. Our restaurant manager apologized for pouring the champagne into the cocktail glass instead of serving it separately. I want to apologize again for this accident and I would like to give you two cocktails on the house as a small offer of amends. I hope you accept it and at the same time you fell our good-will. We are very disappointed by this and our evening has not been enjoyable at all. We have paid a lot of money for this holiday and would expect that the management would want to maintain the good reputation by ensuring excellent standards. Tonight this has not been the case. Dear Beth Metcalfe, I really feel sorry for your personal inconvenience and hope you can enjoy your evening at least by now, after I personally gave my best to ensure you have a calm night without any bad smell in your room. I also want to apologize for your neighbors but at the same time I hope you can understand that we are not aware what is going on in our hotel every minute in every single corner of the hotel. We have more than 100 guests in our hotel and the whole team is really passionate and trying their best to make your holidays as comfortable as possible. But I am sure you will agree that there are still limits to us, especially concerning the behavior of other people that we just cannot fully control at all time. What we can do is to initially act and this was the reason for me (the manager) to promptly go up to your room with you and to “clear” the situation. This example is - in my mind - what you could call “excellent standards”. Of course, the bad smell of the smoke and the noise is not what you call “excellent standards” but I hope I could solve this problem for you. I wish you a silent and good night and are more than happy to talk to you personally tomorrow again. Kind regards, your host and hotel manager

We loved staying in this modern hotel, the guest rooms are lovely as are the common areas all decorated really well great taste and the owner apparently does his own art which adds a great fun vibe. The staff were mostly great (the odd moody and frank older members) and couldn’t do enough especially Jodi and Sam in the restaurant and Ana in the bar all made us feel very welcome and were great hosts for the week they all added to a fun time, made us laugh and created a great atmosphere.

As with all hotels though it’s never perfect, we found there was quite a lot of noise (just general living noises toilet shower walking around, doors closing), but bearable. The boot room only had one seat which caused a slight delay getting out in the morning so more seating would be a bonus. Also they could do with refreshing things more often, we often found food bowls on the buffet both in the morning and evening had often run out and weren’t refreshed as was the drinking water in the spa always empty by about 5pm and never refilled. The salt scrub (which when there was very lovely for the steam room) wasn’t always present or again had run out. Therefore a little more attention in those areas would make it that little bit more special.

But overall we would definitely visit again and hope the three staff members that made it special would be there again to greet us!

This is an exceptional stylish hotel! The service was amazing from the moment we arrived. We were warmly greeted by reception staff and were offered a welcome drink on arrival which was a lovely touch. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the food in the restaurant was delicious, plentiful and creative. Everyone was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Benita on reception helped us with all our queries and Ana at the Bar was very knowledgeable with drink recommendations and was very helpful throughout our stay. We hope to visit again in the future and would highly recommend this hotel.

What a pleasure to arrive in this place surrounded by incredible firs !

Unfortunately, the expected standard for a 4-star hotel were not there for the restaurant.

The food were ok but we were imposed half-board instead of A la carte and we were also imposed and placed in a section less design although there were many available tables in the nicer section...

Breakfast was also very poor...

We won’t recommend this hotel for people expecting a 4-star level.

Dear Sir or Madam, thank you for your feedback and your open words. We are sorry for obciously not fully meeting your expections this time. Unfortunalty, you exactly criticize the food which we are so passionate about! Our "Fine Alpine Dining" concept as well as our breakfast is mentioned so many times for its great taste and big range of delicous products. We would have loved to help you on site for finding your best place at the restaurant. Especially, when we were flexible enough concerning spare tables. What I really cannot understand ist your point "we were imposed half-board instead of a la carte"... Just because we do not offer a la carte at all in our hotel and never have... Is it possible that you mix-up our hotel with an ohter hotel you have stayed in? Also your point "breakfast is very poor" cannot really be varified, as we have all great organic and regional products, home made marmelades, freshly cooked egg varieties, delicious coffees, and sooo much more delicacies to explore and enjoy! As a Corona serurity policy, we have no front cooking at the buffet at the moment and do serve a lot more food to the talbe than we used to do as a special service to our guests. But the range of poducts is even bigger than ever before...? Anyway, we are thankful for your review and wish you all the best! Your motivated and greatful ZILLERTALERHOF team.

We have spend our Christmas holidays for several years now in the Alpine Hideaway Zillertalerhof. This is in many ways a top of the bill Hotel. All the rooms, restaurant, bar, and pool/wellness area are beautifully and modernly designed decorated. Especially around Christmas the atmosphere is wonderfull and gives you a special feeling during your stay. Every year all the staff makes you feel welcome and at home. All this atmosphere accompanied with a culinary greatness in the morning with the breakfast but especially in the evening. Every day a five course dining with great quality, the same experience we have with Michelin star dining restaurants in the Netherlands. All day is a wonderfull experience for adults but also for our children. The hotel is located near the cosy and great city center of Mayrhofen and you can walk to the cabin lifts which take you to a great ski-area. We have spent many holidays in 5* hotels, but this hotel is in many ways a true 5* experience!!

The amazing:

Amazing food, very high quality of execution.
Don't miss a single dinner here!
We had amazing Venison, Lamb, Beef Tartare, Pork Ribs.

Breakfast is also wonderful, good variety and quality.

The spa is also very high quality, Saunas were well functioning and good.

The staff is super courteous, helpful, nice.

The just OK:

The room is comfortable (mostly), Beds were too bouncy, granted apparently this is popular in europe, so maybe I'm the only one who doesn't like this.

The not so good:

Lockers are too small, my brother's 171cm snowboard wouldn't fit.
Room does not have a kettle for nighttime tea.
Power is turned off during the day in the room, which means the in room refrigerator loses power as well.

The annoying:

Code of conduct (rules on the door) is not enforced on other guests:
- Saunas are supposed to be nude, some guests came in with bathing suits.
- Some guests brought in cellphones (with Cameras) into the nude spa area
- Some guests brought their children into the 16+ spa area.

While this is not part of code of conduct, some guests were overly loud in the Spa area and Dinner lounge. This includes speaking on their phones in quiet areas, yelling in the dining room.
