Lika Hotel

The Lika Hotel is located in a convenient location in the historic center, namely in the Sultanahmet area. I booked this hotel with my wife and child (10 months) for holidays - from April 30 to May 4. The settlement was quickly passed. Hotel staff is responsive and ready to answer any questions. I put this hotel low rating as I believe guests should accommodate in a clean room with clean bed linen. Unfortunately, we found that on the bed linen of whose hair, the floor in the room is dirty, and the sink in the bathroom if and washed, it was bad, because there were hair on it too. Our request for replacing bed linen was immediately accepted by the hotel staff. Another problem with this hotel is that the first floor room is very well heard what is happening at the reception desk. And this review forced me to write just that. Just 15 minutes ago, at the registration bar, a woman was very loud, which caused my child to wake up (now 23:10) and began to cry. To my comment, this woman did not react and kept shouting. In general, I have the conclusion about this hotel: 1. We need to control the purity of the rooms. 2. We need to solve the problem with sound insulation in the first floor room. Unfortunately, these 2 problems prevent me from putting the Lika hotel rating above.

There is a big park right next door, there are many cheap restaurants, marts, fruit shops, and close to metro and tram. Hotel bedding is clean. It was a pity that there was no refrigerator. There was noise around, so I couldn't open the door. Generally satisfied.
DoubleTree by Hilton Istanbul - Old Town

We stayed here as a family and chose the hotel due to its location and also the Hilton brand. Every aspect and element of our stay was outstanding; from the welcome and check in process, the concierge, housekeeping, catering and reception desk - all outstanding and so detailed in the service they give to hosts. We particularly liked this hotel because whilst it's located in the old down district, it's amenities are highly modern, crisp and contemporary. We really enjoyed dining on the roof top terrace, adorned with an array of beautiful flowers and a cosmopolitan vibe. On Friday evenings the live music performance by a guitarist and singer made for a lovely dining experience complemented with delicious food (the tiramasu was one of the best I've ever had!). Our particular thanks to Gonca and the breakfast team for going out of their way to make us very well looked after and adorning our baby with love and lots of attention. We will most certainly return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Istanbul - you will be very pleased

We had a lovely stay at the Almina İnn Hotel. Our room was bright and chic with modern and luxurious touches. Our room was very comfortable with an exceptionally comfortable bed and pillows. The hotel is set back from the main road making for a quiet and peaceful stay. The breakfast buffet very delicious. The staff is incredibly professional. They go above and beyond to help with directions, itineraries, arranging/coordinating activities...you name it. The staff is also super friendly and hospitable- we were constantly offered complimentary Turkish tea and coffee. The location of the hotel is heart of the old city and within walking distance to many historical sites. We would absolutely stay again!!!

Excellent small family run hotel! Rooms are clean and comfortable . The beds are comfortable with crisp clean linen. The shower is powerful with plenty of hot water. The staff are always on hand and extremely helpful guiding but not pushing to excellent excursions. Breakfast is buffet style and very abundant and fresh . The hotel is in the middle of the shoe making district and easily walkable to main sights although all of Istanbul is very hilly. We have had a fab stay and would recommend this lovely little hotel!
Hhk Hotel Downtown

We returned to the HHK after being once previously in summer 2012. And sadly it doesn't seem like anything has been done to the hotel in all that time. Firstly the good : The views are amazing. At this price point I find it difficult to believe that there are better views of the Golden Horn in the whole of Istanbul. The staff are friendly enough - especially Nu (Noo?) the barman/handyman. Check in and out was easy and the outdoor facilities were clean. I can't comment on the wifi as I used an Esim throughout my stay. Breakfast was ok - best to get down early as items didn't seem to be replaced. HOWEVER: The place is badly in need of some TLC. The wooden facade is peeling and scruffy in parts and needs painting. The room was sub par, on the point of being unacceptable. There was a hole in the bedsheet that had been (hopefully) just put on. The shower holder had clearly snapped off some time ago and therefore it was not possible to have a proper shower - unless you have a kind partner who'll stand there holding it over you... The toilet seat was extremely loose as well. The bedding can only be described as the equivalent of a large bath sheet that didn't cover 2 people. The air con worked well though. All the above are in my opinion easy fixes, both financially and the amount of work required and it's baffling why they are not addressed. There's nothing wrong with this hotel that a minimum of effort and investment can't easily rectify. The immediate area is a little run down but didn't feel at all dangerous. It is very handily placed for the metro - 10 minute walk and then 2 stops and you're in Taksim Square. It's about a 20 minute walk to to the ferry point and a little further to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia etc.
