Barcelo Costa Ballena Golf & Spa Hotel

Un-acceptable to hotel playing extraordinary loud music just outside to window of the roome, making it impossible to stay there for several hours each day.

We have had an excellent stay with plesant living and a very good golfcourse the possibility of going to the beach and also taking a trip to Cadiz was great

Played golf every day of our stay. Great to come "home" to the hotel. Relax in the pool, have my choice of food at the banquet both for breakfast and dinner. Staff are very friendly. Had a great time with my group of friends playing golf organized by golfsaga.is . Totally recommended and coming back next year.

Best golf practice facilities in Europe. Nice golf course with really good greens and a great finish on the entire course. Don't miss out on the 9 hole.course. Great hotel with amazing level of service.

7 friends together for an all inclusive golf week enjoyed almost everything. However, here are some things to watch out for: 1. Make a clear deal with the bar and restaurant staff how you want to manage the €8 per day drinks deal, which is excellent value. 2. Be patient with slow service at the bar - it's not the fault of the staff - there's a complex series of operations needed with the screen and till for payment. 3. The Costa Ballena and Sherry golf courses are very good. But Montecastillo and Sancti Petri hills are technically and artificially difficult with no respite or relaxing moments. At montecastello a golf buggy is essential since there's as much distance and elevation difference between holes as there is between tee and green.

Excelent serivce and nice enviroment. Good golf courses and a fun challenge. Service and teaching in the area very good. Golfsaga has great instructors. The food at the hotel is varied. Short distance from airport. A short walk to the supermarket. A short walk down to the beach.

The hotel is very good, the staff friendly. The food is niece and the rooms are comfortable and bright. It was our third time at the hotel and we are allways happy with our stay. The golf courses are nice and nice to play them

The hotel location and property are beautiful. The spa was very good and everyone in the spa was quite nice. There is a 90 minute water element package you can get for €20 which we enjoyed very much. We had a suite that had a few issues with air-conditioning and I felt it smelled a bit moldy. The maintenance person did come right away to fix the air conditioner, however. But, the bar and lobby restaurant staff were rude. Not all of them, but several of them. Examples are: we had gone to the lobby bar a few nights in a row, and the staff either would wait on us at the bar or at the tables. One night we came in and sat at the table. We were the only people sitting at a table. The bar seating was full. The bartender saw us and greeted us but continued to speak to patrons at the bar. We sat there for almost 20 minutes without being served. My husband got up to go to the bar and then the bartender asked him if we wanted the particular drinks that he knew we drank. So, he knew us. He then said he would bring the drinks to our table. My husband said that he would bring them himself as he was already standing at the bar. The bar only had six seats so it wasn’t “overly crowded.“ We felt we were being purposely ignored. In the restaurant, we would have to look for a staff member to get a bottle of water for our table. The restaurant is set up as a huge buffet which, is surprisingly pretty good, so once you are in and sit at your table, the staff usually can get your drinks. We always had to look for someone and ask for water. We would notice the same staff members would go out of their way to help the guests that were of Spanish or Latin origin. Another morning I had breakfast in the restaurant and I had to leave to go back to my room for a meeting online. I was still hungry, so I grabbed a croissant to take with me back to the room. One of the staff members stopped me at the door with a look, and told me that I could not take it with me. I thought he was kidding. He indicated he was not kidding, and I literally had to go back to the table, sit and shove the croissant down my throat so I can get back to my room to conduct this meeting. I was shocked and felt like I was being reprimanded like a child. Another incident is when my husband was leaving for work one morning he was waiting outside the restaurant to open at 7 AM for a coffee. He said it was already all set up, it was just a matter of when they “technically“ opened. He noticed a woman come down and go into the restaurant to start getting her food. It was 6:50 AM. One of the staff members started to reprimand this woman and tell her that she could not be in there having breakfast. The woman said she was told by the front desk that she could get breakfast because she had to leave for work. The staff member made her feel so bad that she put down her food and grabbed her things to walk out. At this point the staff member said, “you might as well get your food, you’ve already touched everything.“ Thi

Very nice hotel with good service and food. The beds are great. Did not like the glassdoor to the toilet. Just five minutes to the Golf clubhouse. In november it is low season and most restaurants nearby are closed.
