A young Lisa Marie carries a doll as her father looks on. "He'd always wake me up to sing in the middle of the night, get on the table and sing," Lisa Marie recalled. "I remember him as my dad, but he was a very exciting dad."

After Elvis's death in 1977, Lisa Marie became the joint heir to his estate alongside her grandfather Vernon Presley and great-grandmother Minnie Mae Hood Presley. When they passed away in subsequent years, she became the sole heir in 1980.

She married musician Danny Keough in 1988, and they had two children—Riley, born in 1989 and Benjamin, born in 1992. The two split in 1994.

She inherited Graceland upon the deaths of her grandfather and great-grandmother.

Right after her split with Keough, she married Michael Jackson. They're pictured here in Versailles, France—their relationship lasted two years.

"The one thing that correlates with Michael and with my father on this subject is that they had the luxury of creating whatever reality around them they wanted to create," she told Oprah Winfrey in 2016. "They could have the kinds of people who were going to go with their program or not go with their program. If they weren't, then they could be disposed of."

In the 90s and early aughts, she was a fixture at various red carpet and industry events.

She began a career as a musician in the 2000s, releasing three albums: To Whom It May Concern in 2003, So What in 2005 and Storm & Grace in 2012.

She dated actor Nicholas Cage, and they married in 2002, but split after just four months. "I'm sad about this, but we shouldn't have been married in the first place," Lisa Marie said in a statement at the time of the divorce.

Elvis loomed large over her life. "First I had to overcome a pre-speculated idea of me," she said of her career as a musician. "I had to sort of burst through that and introduce myself, and that was the first hurdle, and then now sing in front of everybody, and then that was the second one, and I’m the offspring of — you know, who I’m the offspring of — I had a few hurdles to get through, no doubt about it. But the scales never tipped in the other direction too much."

To promote her first album, she performed around the country.

She attended the Golden Globes in 2005.

In 2006, she married Mike Lockwood (pictured). They welcomed twin daughters, Harper and Finley, in 2008. In 2016, they divorced and were locked in a custody battle over their children.

"It’s been all my life," she told the Associated Press about her father’s influence. "It’s not something that I now listen to and it’s different. Although I might listen closer. I remain consistent on the fact that I’ve always been an admirer. He’s always influenced me."

Lisa Marie was a Scientologist until she left in 2014.

She said that Scientology "saved her" from drug addiction. "I was on a 72-hour bender," she told Paper magazine in 2003."Cocaine, sedatives, pot and drinking – all at the same time. I don’t know how I lived through it. I woke up one day with a bunch of people on the floor and the coke dealer was in the room and I said, 'Everybody get the hell out! That’s it. I’m done.' I drove myself to the Church of Scientology and said, 'Somebody help me right now.'"
