Great location for a weeks sight seeing in Malta, rooms just ok, comfy beds, we were unlucky enough to get a room at the rear, but never thought we'd be facing some wooden boarding as our balcony view, needless to say we didn't spend much time on the balcony. Pay extra for sea view,
Food was excellent, we went B&B and any food we had in the hotel was 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.
The pools are many, the one over looking the sea at the front was stunning and at 10am you'll get a lounger.
Drinks are well priced at 2 Euro for soft drinks which is fair enough.
Breakfast is plentiful, but a tip. Go before 9am and miss the stampede, after that it becomes a nightmare, it's hard to even find a seat after 9: 30. Reception staff were very helpful and check in and check out was painless,
Rooms themselves were grand, not the biggest but clean and tidy, bathroom itself is lovely with excellent shower, the major downside was no lock of ANY description on the glass bathroom door, not even a door handle, no snib, no latch, nothing but 2 hinges.

Lovely hotel, great staff, food is pretty good but not great. Good location and clean. Feel reasonably safe though you have to watch out for thieving Eastern European pickpockets as usual. Travel is a problem. Parking is a problem and can be expensive. They drive like absolute idiots as well. Take care in the towns as the locals have no respect for pedestrians and won't stop even in crossings. Might stay again in the future.

An amazing location in Buggibba, close the sea with a private access through a tunnel underneath the public road!
There are also 4 different pools, two for kids, and many gardens around.

Main lobby is very huge, with a new bar on the ground floor.
Got a small room first day, but then was moved to a larger with balcony in the new building.

Special thanks to the receptionist Cindy, so kind kind and professional!

Very nice hotel and it’s the easiest way to see some very old ruins in Malta. The Dolmen is in the courtyard of the hotel, you are allowed to walk around the stones. Just ask at reception for directions. The important carvings have been moved to Valletta for safe keeping.

Nice views on one side, less nice views on the other side of the hotel. Was a bit disappointed with the buffet's choice at the main restaurant. Although the food was good, I couldn't say that I had much choice. (Example: one type of vegetables for main course, one type of potato for main course, just two dishes of meat to choose from and more similar examples....)

Great location. Comfortable room. Heating and cooling in rooms is not personalized but controlled from hotel's end. Good continental breakfast.

Amazing place 10/10
We previously booked a 4* hotel no where nice as this place. Staff very nice, helpful and present to talk too. I'm now going to relax and enjoy our family holiday. Thanks for making me and my family feel better

Bedsheets were smelling like ketchup. Only one indoor swimming pool was available, sauna was closed, the shower was brand new but terribly leaking. Breakfast area was crowned with a huge group of tourists and not relaxing at all. Definitely rude staff during the check-in and check-out. However, the view from the balcony was very nice. Very nice Spa.

Great seaview room without lots of space. Bit of pipe noise in our room but not loud enough to bother us sleeping. Overall a positive impression for our first time in Malta.

Amazing hotel. Clean, bright and spacious.
We had room 5133, sea view and balcony. Room was spotless, beds clean and fresh, bathroom clean. Rainfall shower was hot and strong.
Food was amazing, huge choice of meals every evening.
Staff were polite and helpful
Will definately return

A big refurbishment last year but some of hotel still in need of upgrade esp original spa area which is quite shabby. New indoor pool badly designed and lacking in facilities. Disappointing over all. Staff not very friendly with one or two exceptions. Not sure we'll go again.

For two years running we have had an enjoyable New Year's Eve dancing, drinking, watching sport and eating at the bar on ground floor. There is live music and animation for adults as well as children in a comfortable and plush surrounding with tourists as well as locals who were all very well dressed.

10

A nice hotel which has been refurbished in the last months. The hotel is by the sea with a beach and a couple of pool. The hotel which is found in Bugibba is now a modern hotel, with a nice welcome area, a number of restaurants, spa, car park etc. It is found in the heart of a touristic area, with the bus terminus is just next to the hotel. There are always prehistoric stone buildings in the garden area.

Everything was just great. The hotel has all you might need, including electric reduction which they charge for. Breakfast is rich to choose from, there's plenty of fruits included, too. Spa is quite convenient with sauna and small pool. Parking was considerably easy in the street nearby. Bed is comfortable and view from the hotel to the pool and sea was splendid. Highly satisfied.

I write this review the evening before I'm due to leave this fantastic hotel and shortly before my final dinner here.

After reading lots of reviews on many places in Malta, I cannot describe how fantastic our stay at the Dolmen was when you consider many places rated 4 stars but to be honest reminded me of Fawlty towers with dated decor and the lack of facilities.

I travelled with my mother and 5 (now 6yr old daughter) and saw this listed as a four star resort. I cannot understand why it isn't 5 stars as the location is fantastic, the staff superb and the facilities also excellent.

Our room was maintained to a high standard of cleanliness throughout our stay as we're all of the public areas within the hotel.

The food was too a high standard considering it was buffet style and the kitchen and restaurant we're run very efficiently with chefs continuing to cook as certain dishes were popular and therefore needed more makong.

Despite travelling out of season we have found many activities to fill our time. The animations Dept had a member of staff called shaggy who run the kids club as well as the various activities available to enjoy throughout the day. I particularly enjoyed the water aerobics and it was taught in a professional yet friendly manner. My only issue was the length of time as it ended too quickly for me personally. The kids club was something my daughter enjoyed immensely. Well structured with various activities...she couldn't wait to tell us of what she had done whilst there. She doesn't normally like being left with people she doesn't know but instantly felt at ease with the friendliness on offer from the member of staff running the club. Various other activities were on offer throughout the day and again friendly chats with the staff who maintained a high level of professionalism throughout. Sounds easy?...perhaps not considering the amount of tourists from different backgrounds and geographical locations.

The reception staff were always around if we required anything and the staff who cleaned the rooms were always polite and courteous.
The staff in the eating areas never came across as overbearing but tables are always cleared in time for the next course. No one ever seemed miserable or over bearing despite the very busy spells during dinner service and breakfast . I'd also like to mention Dana who was often the one who greeted us for meals. She was fantastic with my daughter and was just always so friendly and lovely ...this holiday has been absolutely amazing and I shall be recommending this place to everyone I know .

Many thanks to all who enabled our holiday to be so enjoyable. Run with military precision I think is what made this such a fantastic holiday for us
Cannot wait to come back again ....hopefully in the summer months when the place will have a different vibe to experience

Nice hotel , very clean and the staff professional and attentive. Wish they would cover the salad bar to stop the customer from sneezing and coughing over it.
The buffet was good but to eat there every night got a little boring.
That however was the fault of the “senior discovery tour “ who booked us that way “. Can not recommend this tour company. I for one will never travel with them again.
Our guide told us not to drink the tap water but the hotel didn’t provide any drinking water except for 2 bottles on the first day.
The bar on the main floor had a great lunch menu quite reasonable and the lady serving us was very pleasant and accommodating. We ate there several times and enjoyed it.

During our stay they had a fire in the hotel and I must say that the response of the staff was one of confusion and a lack of any emergency response! We had to tell the receptionist that no one was advising guests not to use the lifts or not to return to their room!
The hotel is very nice but no heated pool outside and it's too cold for children however the small indoor is warm but children are not allowed in at certain times so it's disappointing one is not heated outside.
Breakfast is good but don't wait in line for food as no other guests will!!!
Rooms are nice but floors are extremely slippy when wet and the air-conditioning is pre set and can't be adjusted!
Some staff are helpful but others are not and not all speak English.
Another disappointment is the pool side bar only keeps beer chilled and not soft drinks for some bizarre reason???
Overall it is a nice place to stay but if those things were better it would be amazing.

Not a fantastic time to visit this 3*+ since there's building construction on going (was able to change rooms with a calmer view facing the manutention house with beautiful pipes and noise, but much better than the machinery disturbances due to the construction ). The rooms are spotless and comfortable but do not offer decent toiletries (small bags of shower gel that aren't renewed once used, had to buy some shower gel in a grocery store!!!)they don't change your towels daily. The breakfast is varied and boring after 2 days. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel has it's private beach and facilities for a pleasant beach stay.

Beautiful hotel, staff working in breakfast hall and maids are very friendly and polite. Great choice for breakfast. Amazonia is very well looked after so relaxing. The food in Cafe Delos is beautiful along with the view looking out to sea. The only problem during the stay was an issue with the room booked during check in, but that was resolved pretty quickly by Jonathan. I'd definitely recommend this resort and would return ( if I was guaranteed the same room as I got).

Building wonderful and rooms well designed and decorated. But there was no movie channel. We had to channel surf mostly foreign channels. Luckily we have a tablet to watch Netflix. No conditioner or hand cream. The little things that make the stay special were missing sadly as there was so much potential.

I liked living in this hotel. The desk was friendly and gave you the help you needed. The odd thing is that the hotel doesn't have any sign, so if you get to Bugibba on your own it is hard to find it.

I could live here again, but I feel is a great place for family and retired people. Also a place for people who wants to get away from stress and unwind. There are much more going on in cities like Valletta and Sliema.

There are many swimming pools to juggle between, and you got the beach right outside the hotel. That was the best part with the hotel. The bathing facilities were great.

I wasn't that amazed about the food, but you have a lot of nice places to eat outside the hotel. San Antonio hotel has a great chinese buffet on their rooftop (recommend).

Overall, great family hotel.

This was our first visit to the Dolmen resort and I was very impressed. The food was excellent as was the service from all.the staff and the location was perfect. I'd like to make a special mention to Sladja who worked in the Delos cafe, a lovely lady.

My family has stayed at this hotel both pre and post construction.

Each and every time I leave here, I leave more impressed. The concierge service is outstanding, Lara especially - just incredibly professional, affluent in both the English language and about things to do in Malta. If we needed fresh towels, or had problems with our room they were handled immediately. This hotel and it's staff will go the extra mile to ensure the hospitality is outstanding - charles, the supervisor, is also incredible. We had paid for the breakfast everyday and when we arrived the first day were unable to use our breakfast, and they made good the meal for lunchtime.

Seriously folks, if you stay anywhere but hear - you are doing yourselves an injustice.

I booked 2 hotel rooms one for me and my fiance and the other for my parents. My room didn't have a balcony just a window which didn't open very much so we felt claustrophobic. While my parents got a room with a balcony and I paid the same price for both.

A good 3 star hotel resort, won't call it a 4 star place. What is really nice is the location, very accessible to other happening places in Bugibba and a direct access to the sea. All the pools and the 2 bars close to the infinity pool are a great add on although all the pools in the day are very busy with kids and families in the peak time - nothing to complain about but good to note if one is looking for a quite time together with his/her partner.

We took on half board option and the restt gets packed in the breakfast-dinner times unless you go very early for breakfast and late for dinners. Food is okay nothing special, some days are better than others but again basic quality food guess the quality gets diluted in the effort to cope for quantity. What was really missing was the labels on the food, if you are vegetarian or have allergies better to ask first.

Tons of activities are going on every day and night so that's really a plus. Overall had good time but wish it was a little more exclusive
