Fig trees instantly bring a piece of the Mediterranean to your garden. Grown in a sunny, sheltered position they will produce bountiful crops of delicious sweet fruits even in the UK.
The Ficus Carica 'Gota De Miel' is a variety of fig tree that is prized for it's production of figs, having two crops a year if conditions are right. It is grown as a commercial crop in Spain. The figs are fairly symmetrical in shape, medium sized with a smooth honey coloured skin which is easy to peel when ripe. The deep amber coloured flesh is soft with plenty of juice and rich in vitamins.  
Very easy to grow and undemanding these fig trees are perfect as an ornamental too, with beautifully lobed leaves being bright green.
Caring for your Fig Tree is easy, remember they are a fruit tree so they will need feeding. Feed with tomato feed every 2-3 weeks from when the figs first appear, through the growing season until they start to ripen.
Great for growing in containers, as restricting root growth encourages fruiting.
