Samsung has announced the Galaxy K Zoom, a smartphone complete with professional-grade camera

Samsung is to release the Galaxy K Zoom, a smartphone featuring a 20.7 megapixel professional-quality camera.

The device blends the functionality of Samsung's Android-based smartphones with an advanced camera complete with retractable lens, capable of 10x optical zoom.

Its 20.7 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor is designed to capture ultra-detailed images even in low light conditions, coupled with optical image stabilisation to reduce blur caused by movement.

Pro Suggest mode offers 10 optimised filter settings based upon what you're focusing on; for example, holding the Galaxy K Zoom over a table may generate the 'food' setting suggestion.

The Selfie Alarm feature detects faces within the frame and allows you to set a brief timer in order to strike your best pose.

Last month the company announced the wink-activated NX mini smart camera, enabling the hands-free taking of selfies and other pictures.
