Helleborus lividus 'Purple Marble'
A compact, evergreen, clump forming perennial with beautiful blue-green leathery leaves marbled with white veining. Red stems with dense clusters of nodding, cup-shaped green flowers with a purple tinge are produced in late winter and early spring.
Plant in a sheltered position in partial shade. Very tolerant of most soils, they prefer fertile, moist but well drained soil. A hardy plant which will survive normal winter conditions outside. Remove the old leaves in late December.
A charming plant that can be admired indoors as a pot plant in a cool room during winter, or grown outdoors. Offers excellent ground cover in shaded borders, ideal for planting under deciduous trees and shrubs. Also perfect for winter containers.
