Blaze of Glory

Displays green leaves with slightly rippled, creamy-white margins. Makes a spectacular wide clump. Exhibits fragrant, light purple flowers. Grows best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils. A good partner for ferns.

Blue Angel

The largest of the blue hostas with pointed, silver-blue leaves forming a lush, dense, cascading mound. White, bell-like flowers on tall stems adorn the huge clump in summer. Sure to attract attention in the dappled shade garden.

 

Blue Ivory

Displays intense, blue-green leaves with broad, creamy-white edges that brighten to white through the season. Exhibits lavender flowers. Grows best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils.

Blue Mouse Ears

A symmetrical mound of small, heart-shaped leaves with a slight curl that resemble mouse ears. The soft blue-gray foliage has a faint white edge in early spring. The thick foliage resists slug damage. Lavender flowers stand above the foliage clumps. 2008 Hosta of the Year.

 

Brother Stefan

Striking, large leaves with heavy seersucker texture & a bold variegation consisting of vibrant chartreuse, irregular centers & margins in graduating shades of dark green. In early summer, strong, sturdy, green stems with yellow outlines support racemes of nearly white flowers. 2017 Hosta of the Year.

 

Curly Fries

This small hosta is the perfect choice for smaller garden spaces. Forms an arching, wiggly clump of extremely rippled, narrow leaves that develop the best chartreuse color when planted within a morning sun exposure. Lavender flowers appear in midsummer. 2016 Hosta of the Year.

Elegans

A bold plant for the shade garden with striking, seer-suckered leaves of metallic blue-green. Larger than other selections, sure to attract attention. Resists slug damage.

 

Eola Sapphire

A special selection for the shade garden with striking, seersucker-like, metallic blue-green leaves. Larger than others, this dramatic hosta is sure to attract attention. Slender spikes of purple-white flowers appear in summer. The thick, heavily textured foliage is resistant to slug damage.

Fire & Ice

This variegated hosta has slightly twisted leaves that feature white centers & green margins. Creates a wonderful edging in shaded gardens & borders. Lovely lavender flower stalks with white scapes rise above the foliage clumps throughout summer.

 

Fire Island

Brilliant gold rippled leaves on deep red stems provide a beautiful contrast in the garden! Lavender flowers spikes appear in midsummer as foliage matures to chartreuse. Provides excellent coverage for fading bulb foliage. This small yet vigorous grower is perfect for the front of the shady garden border.

First Frost

A selection prized for its robust foliage which remains attractive straight through to the first frost! Rich blue-green leaves have a creamy yellow border that gradually fades to white. Excellent adaptability to varied climates & conditions. Thick leaves resist slug damage. Selected as 2010 Hosta of the Year.

 

Fragrant Blue

A mounding herbaceous perennial with striking powder blue, heart-shaped foliage. Fragrant white, bell-shaped flowers bloom on sturdy stems above the plant. Also called Plantain Lilies, they grow best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils.

 

Fragrant Bouquet

Lush apple green leaves accented with wide, pale yellow to cream-colored margins. Very fragrant white flowers develop on tall scapes in midsummer. Adds wonderful texture to shaded gardens and borders or under trees. 1998 Hosta of the Year.

Francee

Lush foliage clumps with dramatic, heart-shaped, dark green leaves edged in white - truly a standout in the landscape. The mounding foliage with beautiful variegation is ideal for those sometimes difficult to fill shady woodland areas & borders. A wonderful hosta for containers.

 

Ginko Craig

Narrow, lance-like green leaves edged in white make an ideal edging plant for a shady border & woodland gardens. Thrives in dappled morning sun to shade, protected from harsh sun exposures. Also great under trees, where leaf litter falls through its narrow leaves.

Great Expectations

Large blue-green leaves are accented with dynamic chartreuse centers & margins that fade to green. Tall spikes of pale lavender blooms sway above the foliage in summer. Creates a wonderful edging in shaded gardens & borders, mixing well with astilbes, ferns, and other shade-loving plants.

 

Guacamole

Soft avocado green & yellow marbled foliage with streaks of slightly darker blue-green. Large flower stalks with white lavender blooms release a soft, sweet fragrance. Requires full shade in hot summer areas. Provides a great contrast in both color & texture in the shade garden.

Steel blue-gray leaves have a soft powdery look & create an elegant mound of foliage. Showy stalks of pale lavender flowers rise above the foliage in summer. June

Distinctive gold leaves with striking blue-green margins stand out in lightly shaded beds & woodland gardens. Pale lavender flowers appear on showy scapes above the foliage in summer. Heavy, substantial foliage resists slug damage. Selected as 2001 Hosta of the Year.

 

June Fever

Features leaves with unusually glossy, bright gold centers surrounded by dark blue-green edging that sometimes extends to stripes. Displays lavender flowers. Morning sun brings out the best color. Grows best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils.

Krossa Regal

Shimmering, frosty-blue, upright foliage makes this hosta a real standout in the shade garden. Pale lavender flowers are displayed on 5-foot tall stalks above the foliage. Thick leaves resist slug damage. Makes a dramatic statement when paired with creamy variegated hostas.

 

Liberty

A gorgeous sport of 'Sagae' with blue-green leaves that have wide, dramatically streaked, yellow margins which fade to a creamy white. Produces showy lavender flowers in summer. The thick foliage has remarkable slug resistance. Adds stunning color to any shade border or woodland garden. 2012 Hosta of the Year.

 

Mini Skirt

A miniature mound of thick, wavy leaves that are blue-green with creamy yellow margins. Produces pale lavender flowers that attract hummingbirds. Prefers moist, organic soils. Easy to grow and very adaptable.

Minuteman

Among the showiest of hostas with its attractive, wide, lightly cupped foliage. Satiny green leaves are surrounded by creamy white margins. Large, funnel-shaped flowers are dark lavender. A sun tolerant selection. Ideal for adding exuberant color to shady gardens. The thick foliage resists slug damage.

 

Moonstruck

A small, upright Hosta exhibiting long, narrow, blue-green leaves with wide, creamy-white centers. Displays lavender flowers. Grows best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils.

Paradigm

Beautiful, boldly colored, heart-shaped leaves emerge in spring with a soft chartreuse, heavily seer-suckered center that graduates to golden yellow, dramatically contrasted by dark green margins. In midsummer, trusses of lily-like, pale lavender to near-white flowers rise above the dense foliage mound on sturdy stems.

 

Patriot

A superb compact selection with more heat tolerance than other popular varieties. Features glossy, bold, dark green foliage with gleaming white edges. Great for brightening a full or dappled shade border.

So Sweet

Wonderfully fragrant white flowers make a nice display in late summer. Glossy dark green leaves are edged in creamy white with chartreuse streaks. Grows quickly, about twice as wide as tall, making it an excellent border edging or mass planting. 1996 Hosta of the Year.

 

Stained Glass

Bright golden leaves with wide, deep green margins and prominent veining provide the appearance of stained glass. Large, fragrant, pale lavender flowers complement the dramatic foliage. Bold color for foundation and woodland beds in full or dappled shade. 2006 Hosta of the Year.

 

Striptease

A medium-sized hosta with large, showy leaves that feature yellow-chartreuse centers irregularly lined in creamy white, with wide deep green margins. The lush foliage is accented by fragrant lavender-violet flowers on tall scapes in mid to late summer. A striking accent for shady borders.

Sum & Substance

Perhaps the largest & most popular of the hostas, this robust award winner has immense leathery leaves of chartreuse that become gold as summer approaches. A bold landscape feature when accentuated by smaller bright-colored hostas & other perennials. Thick foliage resists slug damage. Hosta of the Year in 2004.

 

T Rex

An enormous hosta with a lush foliage mound of epic proportions. This garden giant produces extremely large, slightly corrugated, undulating, green leaves. Relatively slow growing, given time & growing room in a shady spot, it is certain to become king of the garden. Produces tall scapes of showy white flowers in summer.

Tropical Dancer

Displays green leaves with rippled, pie crust-like, creamy-white margins. Makes a spectacular wide clump. Exhibits lavender flowers in summer. Grows best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils.

 

Whirlwind

Thick, dramatically variegated & twisted leaves with irregular dark green margins & centers that range from pale chartreuse, to ivory, yellow, & pale green as the season progresses.
