3 volumes, folio (391 x 295mm.), 504 hand-coloured engraved plates by Delorme, J. Furreau, P. Galland and A. Mignot, original paper wrappers bound in at end of volumes 2 and 3, contemporary red half morocco, top edges gilt, others uncut, some light spotting, inkstamps on verso of some plates


This set contains the usual number of plates. Jules Pierre Fourreau (1844-1871), was a French botanist, member of the Linnaean society, alongside fellow botanist and taxonomist Alexis Jordan (1814-1897), whom Fourreau served as assistant at the start of his career.
