Southwest of Innsbruck, the Axamer-Lizum ski area has 15 pistes totaling 40km that are served by 9 lifts with a maximum descent of 760m. While known as a family-friendly ski resort, there are three off-piste ski routes that offer challenge to advanced snowboarders. In addition, there is 300 hectares of open terrain for freeriding. For freestylers, there is the Golden Roofpark to session.
To reach the ski area from Innsbruck, head southwest towards Gotzens. Continue on to Axams. Turn left heading south up to Axamer Lizum.
Overall, Axamer-Lizum is the 69th most popular snowboard & freeride destination of all 92 snowboarding resorts in Austria.
