Ski-in ski-out resort in Austria
Hochsölden is a hamlet above the renowned ski resort of Sölden in the Ötztal – a side valley off the main Inn valley in the Austrian Tyrol.
The main ski resort of Sölden at 1377 metres above sea level is popular with both skiers and boarders and is linked to two glacier ski areas in the winter months as well as having extensive skiing above the village.
The settlement of Hochsölden is at an altitude of 2090 metres and can be reached by car on a cleared road during the winter season.

What makes Hochsölden a true ski-in ski-out resort?
Hochsölden is situated in the Giggijoch area above Sölden (on the right when you look up at the ski slopes from the main village). It is on the route of the Giggijoch ski runs back down to the valley floor so skiers and boarders can head to the base station of the Giggijoch gondola (at the entrance to the village of Sölden coming up the Ötz valley) or just half-way down to the bottom station of the Rotkogel-Hochsölden gondola (which has an intermediate station for Hochsölden itself).
Skiers and boarders wanting to ski back in to the Hochsölden accommodation can access it on the long runs from the Rotkogljoch, which head back down to the Giggijoch area. The Rotkogljoch is on the route back from the glacier skiing and is also linked to the Gaislachkogel area (on the left looking up from the village) by the Langegg chairlift.
