Referencing a famous 1983 artwork by Richard Prince called “Spiritual America” –- which features Brooke Shields in a bathtub, this artwork is actually one of the Richard Prince’s famous “thefts”: it’s a Richard Prince photograph of an image taken by commercial photographer Gary Gross in 1975 (Brooke’s mom Terry paid Gross $450 to have him take it). Terry Shields later sued to reclaim the copyright on the image, but lost.

« I have always been fascinated with Pop Culture and how people react to it. »
Michael Andrew Law Cheuk Yui is a passionate painter based in Hong Kong who has exhibited his work in Japan, China and the US. Long fascinated by pop culture, he explores the impact of pop art, both past and present. He seeks for his compositions to be emotional and impactful, and plays with line, layout and colour. Michael additionally sees art as a medium through which to react to, express and explore questions of existence and happiness.
