Production of season two of Netflix’s hit The Baby-Sitters Club is currently underway, which means we can expect some more from the BSC very soon and there's even a brand new face joining the crew.

Kyndra Sanchez has been cast as Dawn Schafer for the show's second season, Seventeen can exclusively reveal. She joins the rest of The Baby-Sitters Club cast including Anais Lee and Vivian Watson, who play Jessi Ramsey and Mallory Pike respectively, who were revealed at the end of season one. Check out the first photo of the season two cast together below:

The role, which was originated by Xochitl Gomez in season one, was recast due to production scheduling conflicts. Xochitl is hard at work filming the upcoming Marvel film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as America Chavez AKA Miss America. This will be her big debut as the young superhero.

Unfortunately, both filming for The Baby-Sitters Club and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness are happening at the exact same time. Since Dawn is such a huge part of The Baby-Sitters Club and this is an exciting opportunity for Xochitl to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, she had to step away from the series for her new role. While this was definitely a hard decision to make, the cast and production members of The Baby-Sitters Club are excited to see Xochitl take on this brand new project!

Netflix also released a video with the big news, noting that Xochitl will always be a part of the BSC and showing Kyndra's very sweet reaction to finding out that she has been cast as Dawn. And yes, it's just as cute as you would imagine as the rest of the club — Sophie Grace, Malia Baker, Momona Tamada, and Shay Rudolph — came together to surprise her with the big news!

17: How would you describe Dawn in season 2?

Kyndra Sanchez: Dawn is a strong Latina girl who is an activist. She cares for the environment and wants to make a change. Dawn is also very confident and is very supportive of all of the girls goals and dreams. Whilst being calm and collected, she is interested in things of a higher nature and is grounded in reality.

17: How are you most like Dawn?

KS: We both care for the environment, and have this fire inside of us that wants to spread our voices and make a difference. For the last 5 years, I have been spreading kindness, love, and compassion by hosting lemonade stands for the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundations, as well as visiting senior centers every Christmas to sing carols and play the guitar. In addition, I am a pescatarian and I am into spirituality. I have lots of crystals, I'm into zodiac signs, and I'm learning how to read tarot with my friends. Fun fact, I actually manifested getting this role.

17: How are you different from Dawn?

KS: This is a hard question considering we have lots of similarities, but one thing I can think of is that I am a musician, and a gymnast.

17: What are you most excited for fans to see that you can share?

KS: That we all come from different backgrounds yet we all respect one another and find strengths in their unique differences. Everyone is independent and has their own distinctive styles and personalities that can inspire others. Girls supporting girls is big in the BSC!

Congratulations Kyndra and Xochtil and long live the BSC!
