The El Paso hotel is a complex that has been built with a Mexican theme. Each area of the complex is named after a Mexican town. There are picturesque white-washed buildings and you get the feeling you are in a quaint Mexican village. The hotel is only 5 minutes drive from the Port Aventura theme park and has excellent facilities for families with children. The staff were especially friendly and efficient at this hotel.
One quirky feature of the El Paso hotel is that it has a maze in the courtyard off the lobby. Luckily the walls of the maze aren't too high and so people can see you if you become stuck!

The hotel complex has an outdoor swimming pool that is enormous. There's a sunken pirate ship for the children to play on and room for hundreds of sunbeds around the terraced area.
There are 3 restaurants and 2 bars. One of the bars is next to the pool. The restaurant Merida serves food in the form of a buffet, the restaurant El Coyote is inspired by the world of film, and the Club Maya restaurant serves snacks, sandwiches and burgers. Club Coyote is a club where you can dance, and La Bahia Maya is the bar by the pool which is ideal for relaxing. There's also a shop in the lobby that sells beachwear and souvenirs.
Car hire is available through reception.
The price of the hotel includes entry into the theme park, and the youngsters can join the hotel's children's club (called Campo Aventura) free of charge.
If you are staying in the El Paso hotel you can (subject to availability) get an 'Express' pass which gives you direct access to some of the most popular rides in the park without having to queue. You should ask at reception for details.
There's also a free shuttle service to take you to the local beaches on the Costa Daurada.
If you buy items whilst in the Port Aventura theme park, you can arrange to have them sent to your room at the hotel free of charge. This saves you from carrying your shopping around with you all day.
Rooms
There are 500 rooms that have air-conditioning, heating, satellite TV, radio, phone, safe, minibar and en-suite bathroom. The rooms are decorated in a rustic Mexican style with coppery and yellow colours. They are well lit and many have lovely views over the pool or across the gardens of the complex.
Hotel Location And Facilities
The El Paso Hotel is in an excellent location, just 5 minutes drive from the Port Aventura theme park. It's also only 5 minutes drive from the resort of Salou and views of Salou and the mountains in the distance. Salou has a beach and plenty of shops, bars, restaurants and banks.
Inside the Port Aventura theme park you'll find cash points, restaurants and souvenir shops.
How To Travel From The Airport To The Hotel
Via Taxi: A taxi from Reus airport to the El Paso hotel Port Aventura will take about 15 minutes.
Taxi fare: €37.59
Via Bus: You can take a bus from Reus airport to Salou or La Pineda. From there you will have to take a taxi for another 5 minutes. The bus from Reus airport leaves from outside the arrivals doorway.
Single ticket: €3.10
Via Car: You can drive from Reus airport to the El Paso hotel, Port Aventura in approximately 15 minutes. You follow the A7 motorway (sometimes also called AP7) and come off at the exit signposted for Portaventura. The hotel is off the main entry road into the park.

The El Paso hotel Port Aventura is a well located hotel for access to the Port Aventura theme park. It's Mexican theme gives it a quaint feel and the staff are really helpful. The pool area is the highlight of the complex as the pool is so large. This is a well designed and very picturesque hotel that has the effect of making you feel really relaxed.
