The beams in this sculpture are made of welded iron plates. They have been configured in such a way that alternating beams protrude in relation to the centre. The impossible balance thus created can only be maintained because the beams have been welded together. In this stack, the empty space between the beams is also emphasized. Visser’s stack is a play of balance and gravity.
