Note to members: Plans are now being made for the gradual transition for a new seed chairman to take on this position, but until then everything remains the same.
On January 1st, 2020, The European Commission issued a regulation stating that a phytosanitary certificate
must accompany all shipments of seed entering any country within the European Union.
This year, the ARS Seed Exchange will cover the phytosanitary certificate cost of (104.00?) to send one
shipment to each EU country or each ARS Chapter in EU ordering seed. Participating countries have identified
a consignee who will receive your seed order. EU member orders will be filled in our normal format.
(Donors first, etc.) then held until a closing date is agreed upon. A USDA plant Inspector will inspect
the seeds, and issue the phytosanitary certificates. The seeds will then be shipped to the consignee for
each country along with the phytosanitary certificate. Each individual order will be packaged in its mailer,
so all the consignee can apply postage and post. Orders received after the group order has been posted will
be accessed a single $26.00 Phyto fee. Non-members can order after March 15th.

20-126 h.p. SM502 selfed
SM30 is a Smith-Mossman find with a lot of yellow on each of the five petals. 2406 has a lot of
pink and some yellow on all five petals. This cross has produced plants with a lot of yellow and pink
on each of the five petals. This is a second generation cross to produce a flower with more yellow and pink.
SM189 XSM232 is a cross made by Dick Cavender. SM189 has large flowers for an occidentale and SM232 has
very colorful frilly flowers. (SM 189 X SM232)15 is a good selection from this cross. The aim of this
cross is to produce flowers that have the best features of this cross and SM30.
SM28-3 is petaloid double on some of its flowers. The goal of this cross is to produce a
larger fraction of flowers that are petaloid double with more yellow and pink.
The goal of this cross is to produce flowers with more double petaloidy and more yellow.
SM502 is a picotee with a thin purple picotee. As it grows sport branches emerge.
On these sport branches, the picotees are wider and the leaves on the sports have blotches of purple.
As the plant grows, the sports have sports, which have a very wide picotee and the leaves have a greater
area of purple blotches. The goal of this cross is simply to see what occurs.
