Description

Our original plants, from Mike and Polly Stone when they were at Askival, are divisions of a clump that was originally a single (authentic) plant from Boyd Kline in USA. You can see the exact clump they came from illustrated in Fred Case’s book, Trilliums.

This is the most intensely coloured and attractive clone that there is.  Nice veined and embossed leaves but superb white flowers, marked with deep purple flecks and spots which intensify to a deep purple throat.

Growth has proved slow here, propagation is even slower and we no longer offer clonal Purple Heart having discontinued it in favour of raising T. rivale from its seed. The seedlings are almost all have well-marked and embossed leaves and well-spotted flowers, however we offer them simply as Trillium rivale in our lists.  Please don’t add yourself to the waitlist for this one, we just don’t have it for sale. (no, not even one, sorry)
