Description

Collected in 1966 at 300m in S. Greece by Herbert & Molly Crook this passed eventually to the late Michael Hoog of Haarlem. Under his care it was increased before eventually being named by his son Antoine.

Narrow dark green leaves (these are lighter in colour than Dodona Gold) and buttercup-yellow flowers but these are held on much shorter stems than most other clones and strains that I have seen.

This is our earliest-flowering of the Sternbergia sicula forms and it is readily grown and increased. A further outstanding feature is that, once the bulbs are established and not disturbed,  it usually has two flowers on each scape, rather than the normal one!
