One of the most beautiful passion vines, this moderately large Passiflora produces slender stems that climb to about 10 m high, with evergreen, simple or trilobed, leathery leaves and very showy racemes of bright red to pinkish red flowers. Passiflora princeps is perhaps better known and popularly cultivated as Passiflora racemosa. It is native to the Atlantic Coastal Forest in southeastern Brazil, where it enjoys a mild tropical climate.
