An epiphytic Astelia found on both the North and the South Island of New Zealand with narrow, strap-like leaves and showy clusters of yellow fruits on female plants. It can be grown on the branches of large trees but will also adapt to being planted in the garden in a well drained spot. It likes a humid, temperate climate and can sustain light freezes.
