  • Jurassic Park
    Jan 01 1994
Jurassic Park is a rail shooter arcade game developed and released by Sega in 1994. It is based on the 1993 film of the same name. The game was followed by two arcade sequels, The Lost World: Jurassic Park in 1997, and Jurassic Park III in 2001.
  • Let's Go Jungle!: Lost on the Island of Spice is a joystick-mounted gun arcade game by Sega. Players take the roles of a man and a woman stranded on a jungle island which has been overrun by monsters. Each player must shoot the monsters with his or her machine guns while looking for rescue. There is a version of the game called Let's Go Jungle! Special, in which players sit on a revolving seat with a large projection screen in front and another in back. A sequel in 2010 was announced to be in development called Let's Go Island: Lost on the Island of Tropics. It was released in mid-2011. A spiritual sequel, Transformers: Human Alliance, was released in 2014.
  • The Menacer is a light gun peripheral released by Sega in 1992 for its Sega Genesis and Sega CD video game consoles. It was created in response to Nintendo's Super Scope and as Sega's successor to the Master System Light Phaser. The gun is built in three detachable parts, and communicates with the television via an infrared sensor. The Menacer was announced at the May 1992 Consumer Electronics Show in Chicago and was released later that year. The gun was bundled with a pack-in six-game cartridge of mostly shooting gallery games. Sega also released a Menacer bundle with the Terminator 2: The Arcade Game. Sega producer Mac Senour was responsible for the Menacer project and designed the six-game pack. He originally proposed non-shooting minigames based on existing Sega licenses like Joe Montana, David Robinson, and ToeJam & Earl, but most of the prototypes were abandoned due to high cost in favor of more shooting-type games. Sega did not plan another first-party release for the Menacer outside of the included multicart. The Menacer is remembered as a critical and commercial flop. Critics found the six-game pack subpar and repetitive, and criticized the peripheral's lack of games. The ToeJam & Earl spinoff game was held in the highest regard, and reviewers recommended the Menacer-compatible Terminator 2 game. A direct-to-TV light gun that included the six-game Menacer pack was released in 2005.
  • Planet Harriers is a 3D rail shooter arcade video game published by Sega, developed by their Amusement Vision division, and is part of the Space Harrier series. It uses a twin cabinet, which allows for two players to play simultaneous single-player games, or a networked two-player game. The cabinet has a seated configuration. Control is through a joystick with a missile and bullet trigger, and view-change and bomb buttons on the main panel. In September 2000, IGN described Planet Harrier, running on the Sega Hikaru arcade system board, as "the unrivaled champion of videogame graphics" and stated "there's never been as visually impressive a videogame as this", praising the long draw distance, "clean and crisp" image quality, speed of movement, large number of fast-moving objects, and "amazing" graphical style. They also praised the gameplay as "the fastest, most intense 3D shooter ever crafted".
  • The House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return is a compilation and re-release of The House of the Dead 2 and III for Wii. It is compatible with the Wii Zapper peripheral.
  • The House of the Dead 4 is a light gun arcade game with a horror theme and the fourth installment of the House of the Dead series of video games, developed by Sega. The game takes place between the events of The House of the Dead 2 and The House of the Dead III, and introduced several new gameplay concepts. Players can control characters James Taylor, from The House of the Dead 2, or Kate Green, a new character to the series. The House of the Dead 4 is the first game to run on the Sega Lindbergh arcade system board. A PlayStation 3 version featuring support for PlayStation Move and the two stages from The House of the Dead 4 Special was released on April 17, 2012 on the PlayStation Network.
  • The Lost World: Jurassic Park is a light gun arcade game from Sega. It was released in 1997, and is based on the film of the same name. The film's director, Steven Spielberg, received one of the arcade cabinets as a gift from Sega of America. It is also a follow-up to Sega's 1994 Jurassic Park arcade game. A third arcade game based on Jurassic Park III was made by Konami in 2001.
