Metal Muse: Floor Jansen of Nightwish
There’s really only one word to describe Floor Jansen of Nightwish: badass. The Dutch musician is not only a phenomenal singer but also an incredibly awesome songwriter and vocal coach.
The gorgeous 33-year old vocalist had already made a name in the metal world from her days in After Forever and her solo work in ReVamp, when she received a phone call in September of 2012 by the multiplatinum Finish symphonic metal band Nightwish. They asked her to fill in for their singer Anette Olzon on their current North America tour. A couple of hours later Floor was already on the plane to her first Nightwish gig in Seattle. She had two days to learn all the songs, finished the tour successfully and was asked to officially join the band in 2013.
The Dutch artist is so committed to her new gig that she moved to Finland last year where Nightwish recorded their latest album ‘Endless Forms Most Beautiful’.
We were thrilled when Floor took some time out of her busy schedule recording last fall to shoot some Pretty Attitude pieces with our dear friend and talented photographer Andrea Beckers of Beckflash Photography.
