Former Ubisoft and EA studio head Jade Raymond joins Google

Game industry veteran Jade Raymond has joined Google in an undisclosed role. On Tuesday, Raymond announced her move to Google on her Twitter account, saying, “I’m excited to finally be able to share that I have joined Google as VP!”

Raymond’s move to Google comes just a week before the tech giant is set to announce a new gaming initiative at the annual Game Developers Conference. Raymond didn’t say if she’d be joining Google’s games team, but given her pedigree, that seems likely.

A 20-year veteran of the game industry, Raymond previously worked at Ubisoft, where she served as executive producer and co-creator of the publisher’s Assassin’s Creed franchise, and later general manager of Ubisoft Toronto. Raymond then worked at Electronic Arts, where she oversaw EA’s Motive Studio, PopCap Studio, and Star Wars portfolio. She left EA in October 2018.

Raymond will join other former game executives at Google, including Phil Harrison, formerly of PlayStation and Xbox, and Jack Buser, previously the director of PlayStation Now and PlayStation Home.
