Choosing a new confier--Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Boulevard'

Hello, I have a large older American holly near a path, our vegetable garden, and a coy pond. My wife hates it because it is prickly, etc.... We have decided to replace it with a conifer and were considering Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Boulevard, mostly for the color and texture of the younger specimens...
