This species is native to India, Bangladesh, Nepal and the northwestern Yunnan province of China, where it can be found growing on limestone outcroppings. This orchid flowers in the late fall and winter, during which it prefers higher humidity around 80%. This cross was made using the awarded, large-flowered 'Harefield Hall' AM/AOS plant of the typical variety with the entirely spotless sanderianum variety. We expect the result to be a flower of impressive size and predominantly yellow color with an intermediate amount of spotting. Of course, each plant will vary based on its seed-grown uniqueness.
