Common Name The Twinned Trisetella [refers to the pair of approximate tails of the lateral sepals]

Flower Size 1.6" [4 cm] tall

Found in Zamora-Chinchipe province of Ecuador in cloud forests at elevations of 1450 to 2500 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped baslly by 2 to 3, thin tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, thickly coriaceous, narrowly elliptical, dark green, suffused with purple beneath, acute to subacute, gradually narrrowing below into the base leaf and blooms in the spring and summer on an erect to suberect, from low on the ramicaul, peduncle slender, 1.8" to 3.6" [4.5 to 9 cm] long, successively single, 2 to 3 flowered inflorescence with just shorter to as long as the pedicel floral bracts.

"The comparitively large, broad leaves are flecked with purple beneath and the peduncle is coarsely verrucose. The slender tail of the dorsal sepal stands erect. The lateral sepals are very narrow and connate near the apices. Contuinuing in the same plane form the apices protrudes a parallel pair of approximate, straight tails. "Luer 1989
