Common Name Yauaperi River Sobralia [In Brazil]

Found in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Brazil as a medium to large sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte in field margins and disturbed forests as well as exposed rocky slopes in montane forests at elevations of 550 to 2200 meters with terete stems with numerous close, tubular, rugose sheaths with 4 to 6, distichous, articulated, leaf-bearing sheaths with the plicate, elliptic-lanceolate, acuminate, leaves held above, that blooms in the summer and fall on a terminal, short to 1" [2.5 cm], single flowered inflorescence holding the large, successive [3 to 4] showy flower close to the apex.
There seems to be a lot of variation in these flowers or it has not been identified well.
