Great staff, very friendly. Best location in Cairo.

The President Hotel was an ideal affordable home base for exploring Cairo. My room was clean and comfortable, the staff and management were helpful and responsive. Most amenities not available in the hotel were within a few blocks--the Zamalek neighborhood is very accessible and friendly to a non-Arabic-speaking foreign visitor. I would particularly recommend the driver I hired via the hotel, Khaled Abd Rabow, who was extremely punctual and dependable, speaks fluent English and Spanish, and is knowledgeable Egyptology and Egyptian history as well as expert in navigating the complex layout of the city.

Inexpensive, as it should be. Rooms in serious need of new carpeting, curtains, etc.

This hotel could use some touch ups here and there, but it was clean and quiet. The bathroom had been recently remodeled. The staff, especually [...], was over the top helpful. When I needed a shirt and pants washed, they found a laundary that did a great job in about two hours for under $3. The breakfast was adequate. The taxis were plentiful. I found several interesting restaurants within walking distance. I wish there had been internet in my room. For the cost: not bad at all!

Clear rooms. Descent breakfast. Friedly staff.

i wanted a hotel that was in the middle of everything and the president covered it...it's kind of like going to a really nice hotel in 1958...but i will say that it was clean and the staff ready to help...if you are looking for a moderately price hotel near cairo i would reccomend it.

Friends and I spent about five nights at the President. The hotel was in a great, quiet location. Staff were helpful and accommodating. Rooms were a little dingy, but adequate. Ask for an exterior room - they are much brighter then the interior ones. Note that it is more economical to book the rooms online than through the hotel directly. Overall, we had a great stay - we were usually out and about during the day so spent little time at the hotel, but the hotel has the basics covered - breakfast is also included which is always a plus!

This hotel was a good choice for me as I was looking for an apartment in the area. The room was small but had a nice balcony and very comfortable bed. The 24 hour room service was nice and reasonable. There is no elevator to the fourth floor so keep this in mind with lots of luggage.

The lady at the front desk was really rude. Not sure if it was just a bad day for her or if she had some sort of personal vendetta against my girlfriend and me, either way I can't dock the hotel points for one bad apple. Besides that everything was amazing... I've stayed at 7+ hotels in Cairo, some of which were 5 stars and the only one I'm coming back to (unless I really feel like living it up) would be the President. I travel around Egypt quite frequently and it is nice to find a place with such good value in such a nice part of town. The one thing I could do w/o though is the taxi drivers sitting out front. Anyways, the hotel was great and I had no complaints. The restaurant was amazing too... great views, food, and a simple buffet for breakfast. My advice- try to the grape juice.
