Fan columbine is a compact perennial that forms a low mound of foliage. The rounded, fan shaped leaves are thicker and bluer than most other columbines and the bright blue, white tipped flowers are quite chubby. The effect is charming!

Very easy to grow. Prefers well-drained soil in light shade, but it is not overly particular. Grow it at the front of the border, in a container, or in the rock garden. Deer and rabbit resistant.

WARNING:
mildly poisonous to livestock. Contact with sap may irritate the skin.
