 Recognition
  • a large shrub, bushy, evergreen, densely leafy, up to 6 m high.
  • its leaves glabrous, up to 13.5 cm long, and leathery.
  • its inflorescence terminal, usually with less than 20 flowers.
  • its flowers tubular, 3.5-4 cm long, purple to violet and spotted brown on lower lobes.
  • its capsule is 1.0-1.8 cm long and prioduces numerous small seeds.
