Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form A sympodial epiphyte, it has a pendulous and clumping growth form. 
Foliage The leaves are oblong to narrowly elliptic. with clasping sheaths at the base.   
Stems The cylindrical stems are un-branched and pendulous, growing between 50 to 100cm long. 
Flowers The flowers are held on axillary racemes located on the upper part of the leafy or deciduous stems. The flowers consist of pink to purple sepals and petals. The flower lip is white, the inner surface is densely hairy. The anther cap is dark purple and covered with a dense layer of hairs. 
Habitat It is found growing on trees in mountain forests at altitudes of 700 to 1000m.
