Obituaries within the newspaper's circulation area are billed to the funeral homes at a rate of $5 per line. Outside the circulation area, the rate is $6 per line. She was a member of Pendleton Street Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Clemson, the Clemson Garden Club, and various Clemson bridge clubs throughout the years. Visitation will be held today, June 15, 2003, from 1 to 3 p.m. at The Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive, with a celebration of life and funeral service at 3 p.m. Interment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Allene Cantrell Tinsley Greenville Allene Cantrell Tinsley, 93, of 26 Seventh died Friday, June 13, 2003.

Born in Liberty, she was the daughter of the late William Robert and Janner Gertrude Rampey Cantrell and the widow of Johnny Alvin Tinsley. She worked for Duke Sandwich Shop before her retirement, was a member of Poe Baptist Church, and was a past president of the TEL Class. Surviving are her three sons, Frank S. Tinsley, J. Larry Tinsley and Joe H.

Tinsley, all of Greenville; a sister, Beaulah Williams, of Easley; five grandchildren; and 1 1 great-grandchildren. The service will be held at noon Monday at Poe Baptist Church, after visitation from 11 to 11:50 a.m. Burial will follow in Grace-land Cemetery West. Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Jack Wilson Williamston Jack Crvmes Wilson, 91, of 106 sic student. She and Mr. Hartness donated the Hartness Pavilion (which adjoins the rose gardens) to Furman University. Mrs.

Hartness was a conservator of nature and animals and a Girl Scout leader. She was a member of First Bap tist Church, Greenville, and the Chamblin Sunday School Class. Surviving are her husband, Thomas Signor Hartness, of the home; a daughter, Martha Joan H. Guinn, and her husband, Warren Guinn, of River Falls, S.C.; two sons, Thomas Patterson Hartness and his wife, Mary Lou Hartness, and Robert Gladden Hartness and his wife, Rebecca Hartness, of Greenville; seven grandchildren, David Pringle Hartness and his wife, Adrian Hartness, Sean Patterson Hartness and his wife, Gina Hartness, Thomas Robert Foster and his wife, Shounda Foster, Bot-hwell John Foster and his Sandy Foster, Amy Jo Guinn, Kathryn H. Norwood and her husband, Ben Norwood, III and Carole Lynn Hartness; seven greatgrandchildren, Harper Jo Foster, Hannah Hartness Foster, Haley August Foster, Benjamin King Norwood, IV, Rebecca Kathryn Norwood, William Thomas Hartness and Graham Alexander Hartness.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 16, 2003, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Greenville, with visitation to follow at the church. A private burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Grady Ansel Hawkins Woodruff Grady Ansel Hawkins, 76, of 105 Pearson Road, died Friday, June 13, 2003. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today, June 15, 2003, at Floyds Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Roger Allison. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Marie McCullar Simpsonville Juanita Marie Southers McCullar, 72, of Richardson Street, formerly of Grand Blanc, and Weir, died Thursday, June 12,2003, at her residence. Born on June 13, 1930, she was a "Maggie Mae Baker Greenville Maggie Mae Baker, of 6 Heath-erly Drive, died Friday, June 13, 2003, at her home. She was the daughter of Aran Johnson Williams, of the home, and the late Willie Williams.

In addition to her mother, she leaves to cherish loving memories two daughters, Pat Scales and Tammy Henderson, both of Green-' ville; four sons, George Williams of Taylors and Bobby, Tandy and Mi-( diael Choice, all of Greenville; 27 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchil- uren; and 15 great-great-grandchil-, then. Hayden Markus Barrett Mauldin A tiny leaf has fallen from the tree of life; forever aloft with the angels; a distance away yet nearer to God. This tiny life. So pure. So fragile. So brief.

Hayden Markus Barrett, the beloved son of Mark Anthony and April Marie Barrett, was born on May 31, 2003, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. He passed away on June 13, 2003, in his loving parents arms at home. He is survived by a sister, Hannah Nichole Barrett, grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. The imprint of his brief life has touched many hearts and he will be missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Childrens Hospital Foundation, 34th St.

Kathryn Bradshaw Salem Kathryn Veronica McCloskey Uradshaw, 82, of 409 Long Reach Drive, died June 14, 2003. She was a homemaker and attended St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Survivors: Husband, George V. liradshaw sons, George III and David L.

Jennie Brown Helton Jennie Lee Holliday Brown, 72, widow of James Brown, of 1348 Holliday Dam Road, died Friday, June 13, 2003, at her home. Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Ethel Babb Holliday.

She was retired from the J. P. Stevens White Horse Plant of Greenville and a member of Chiquola Baptist Church, Honea Path. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Renae and Mike Cowan, of Honea Path; a son-in-law, Steve Brown, of Greenville; three grandchildren, Stephanie Dawn Stone of Belton, Chasity Cowan Roper of Belton and James Christopher Cowan of Honea Path; and live great-grandchildrn, Darrell Kniory Stone, Daxon Cowan Roper, Tyliss T. Roper, James Mason Stone and Olivia Gail Stone, all of Belton.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Gail Brown. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Chiquola Baptist Church, Honea Path, with the Rev. Brad Hayes, the Rev. Ernest Oliver and the Rev.

Earl Raines Greenville Earl Raines, 80, of 707 Spring died Friday, June 13, 2003. Born in Greenville County, he was the son of the late John N. and Viola May Raines and the widower of Hazel Moore. He retired from Southern Worsted Mills, was a member of Rutherford Road Baptist Church, and served in the U.S. Navy.

In addition, he was a member of Taylors Masonic Lodge No.345 and the Hejaz Shrine. Surviving are his two daughters, Bobbie Wilson of Cowpens and Pat Whitworth of Greenville; a son, William Raines, of Simpsonville; four grandchildren; and a greatgrandchild. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Down town, with a graveside service to follow at 1 1 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Simpson, age 59, of 304 Davidson St. died Friday, June 13 at the Laurens County Hospital. He was born in Laurens and was a son of the late Grady and Beulah Fields Simpson. Mr. Simpson was a retired employee of Whitten Center and a member of Long Branch Pentecostal Church.

He is survived by two aunts, Frances Lollis and Clara Bell Madison, both of Honea Path. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 16, at 1 p.m. in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Rosemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Sloan was preceded in death by siblings, J.I. Edna Gladden Hartness Greenville Edna Gladden Hartness, of 210 Lake Circle Drive, Paris Mountain, a philanthropist, nurse, community volunteer and naturalist, died on Saturday, June 14, 2003, at her home.

Born in Sanford, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Theron E. and Ollie Houser Gladden. She was a graduate of Sanford High School, Sanford, N.C., and trained for nursing at Highsmith Hospital, Fayetteville, N.C., and held an honorary doctorate of humanities degree from Furman University. Mrs. Hartness received her pilot's license and was a Civil Air Patrol officer during World War II, when she trained young recruits in military courtesy and discipline, aircraft instructions and shore patrol.

She also worked with the Red Cross during World War II. Mrs. Hartness was an avid mountain hiker, deep-sea fisher-woman and a world traveler, traveling with her children and grandchildren to many foreign countries. She was a Silver Life Master duplicate bridge player and a member of Tri-Delta Sorority and the Gridley Club. She received the Mary Mildred Sullivan Award for her "spirit of helpfulness and awareness of the beauty and value of the intangible elements of life." Mrs.

Hartness worked at the Child Development Center for a number of years and was involved in many civic and charitable organizations, including the Greenville Humane Society, Greenville Art Museum, Governor's School for the Arts, Greenville Little Theatre and the American Cancer Societys Lawn and Lake Gala. She was an avid supporter of Furman Universitys Music Department, where she was originator of the Gladden Quartet and gave a yearly music scholarship to the most promising mu- In Loving Memory of ROOSEVELT BUTLER A loving memory, that's what you arc. Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Lucile Randall Coleman Latta Lucile Randall Coleman, 77, died Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at a local hospital. Mrs. Coleman was born in Rock Hill, a daughter of the late Willard Russell and Agnes Blanks Randall. She was a member of Latta Baptist Church and a retired high school history teacher in the Latta public school system for 35 years.

Surviving are her husband, Joseph Warren "J.W." Coleman, of Latta; sons, Joseph "Joe" Warren Coleman of Fort Myers, and William Russell Coleman of Latta; daughter, Celia Coleman Hughes, and husband, Fred Hughes, of Marietta, sisters, Alta Kingman of Easley and Ann Ridgeway and husband, Ernest Ridgeway, of Rock Hill; and three grandchildren, Sarah, Lily and Vada. DeVito Mount Vernon, N.Y. Irene D. DeVito passed away at home in Mount Vernon, June 11, 2003. She was 87. Mrs.

DeVito was born Aug. 30, 1915, to Geroge and Carmela Re-ale in Mount Vernon. She is survived by her four sons, Gerald, Peter, George and Ronald; nine grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Colette, and brother, Frank. Her husband, Peter F.

DeVito two brothers, Anthony and William; and her sister, Mary, predeceased her. Friends may visit the funeral home today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Church.

Born in Royston, he was the husband of the late Louise Black Dove and the son of the late James Lawson Dove and Margaret Effie Elliott Dove. Mr. Dove served in the U.S. Army for 30 years and was employed by Trailways for five years. Surviving are a son, Wayne Dove, of Lavonia, a niece, Clara D.

Hughes, of Pumpkintown; a sister, Jean Headen, of Greenville; and a brother, Thomas Dove, of Cannon, Ga. Visitation will be held 3 to 4:30 p.m. today at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. A graveside service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in Grandview Memorial Gardens.

He was the widower of feba Davis Cawthorne. Mr. Cawthorne served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a volunteer at the VA Medical Center in Washington, volunteering for 7,500 hours over a period of 17 years.

He was also a member of Kiwanis. Mr. Cawthorne was retired from McDowell Brothers where he worked for 50 years and held the position of vice president. He was a member of Mount Rainier Christian Church in Mount Rainier, Maryland. Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Cawthorne Kreisher, of Creenville; a son, Paul Cawthorne, of Towson, Maryland; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchil- DONALD L.
