Ed Skrein On His Bond With Rebel Moon Co-Star Michiel Huisman

Ed Skrein has opened up on his equation with his Rebel Moon co-star Michiel Huisman. The two talented actors play important roles in this Zack Synder directorial released in the US theatres on December 21. While Skrein plays the role of an oppressive soldier Atticus Noble, Huisman essays the character of a farmer named Gunnar who is pitted against Noble. Interestingly, both Skrein and Huisman played the part of Daario Naharis in the now-concluded HBO series Game Of Thrones with Huisman replacing Skrein after a few seasons. Now, in a recent interview, Skrein has shared his bonding moment with Huisman over their shared characters during Rebel Moon’s shoot.

In an interaction with The Hollywood Reporter, Ed Skrein revealed that he shares a good camaraderie with Michiel Huisman, admitting that they hit off well on the sets of Rebel Moon. Skrein added that when he departed from Game Of Thrones and Huisman stepped in his place, he had no “hard feelings”. Skrein claimed there was a good understanding between them and the entire situation. Speaking to the interviewer, Skrein said that he had a pretty normal conversation with Huisman during their first encounter. “We got on really well from the beginning, actually. It was really nice. So there were no awkward standoffs with him or anyone in the cast,” he said.

Ed Skrein continued that Michiel Huisman was a “really good dude” and he loved hanging out with the latter on the sets. “I also loved training with him in the gym and going on this press tour with him, so it’s been really nice. If I think of him as any character, it’s Gunnar from Rebel Moon,” he added.

When discussing their Game Of Thrones replacement, Ed Skrein admitted that both he and Michiel Huisman were well aware of the dynamics of their profession. In a way, it helped the duo to relate to one another’s point of view. Skrein explained that their jobs demanded that they keep a positive attitude and be nice to everyone. “People will replace me in the future and I will replace other people in the future, and I’ll be a gentleman about it at all times. And I think Michiel will be, too,” he concluded, refuting any possible speculations that the duo have bad blood between them.

Ed Skrein made his Games Of Throne debut in the 3rd season. His tenure ended in season 4 with Michiel Huisman playing the part till season 6.
